28 September 2005 - When Friendships go Sour

Have you ever had someone you call a friend change over time?  Yes, I know that is normal for people to change, but this time it's for the worse.

It has taken me a long time to realize this friend is really not my friend.  I don't think someone who never misses a chance to insult you (especially indirectly) could be considered a friend.  Someone who will give you the silent treatment for no apparent reason, repeatedly, is not really a friend.

You may be wondering why I am writing this on a homeschooling blog.  It is because this friend is also a fellow homeschooler.  I don't really have anyone IRL to share this with, so I am just typing my feelings out here.

It's hard to understand, I know, becuz I have been thru this myself. Makes it even more difficult when it is a fellow homeschooler who (I am guessing) you see regularly, whether you want to or not. Hang in there. You're in my prayers.

22 June 2006 - We Can Be Friends...

Posted by JacqueDixonSoulRestES

Our family seems to be losing friends left and right... Some for the same reasons you stated and some, because people are pretty much self-centered, and only need you when they need you!! I have found this with Christians moreso than Non-Believers, too.
I have not found this to be the case on HSB... I know, it's different than IRL, but the bloggers in our family have found some real friends here.
God does know your heart, and the needs there. He is Faithful, even when others are not. He will provide our every need, and we must let Him do that.
We do not know what our futures hold, but, if we let Him, He will show us that He does, and it is much more than we could have ever imagined.
Rest in Him.
