Update

Well, my girl is finally past her birth weight!  Woohoo!  She weighed in at 8 lb 12 oz today.  So the formula helped us get up over the weight problem but weaning off of it is not that easy!  We're at 6 oz a day and tomorrow we will be going to 5 oz a day.

School is going well.  Almost over.  And I'm so ready for a little not-so-structured time.  We have 5 days and counting.  We will continue to do Math during the summer and we've got some reading lists that we are going to peruse.  Of course, we'll take field trips but that's about it.

I'm still waiting on my cloth diapers.  They were backordered because of the prorap covers.  This also means that I'm still waiting for the milkmaid tea and I'm drinking the yucky stuff that I have until that comes in.  Actually, I'm drinking it as we speak!  ~Grimace~  I'm expecting it to be shipped out this week.

Mother's day was good.  Abby and I went to church that morning for the first time since her birth.  I did not get to be with my Mom but I was with her the weekend before.  My Mom is awesome, by the way. Mother's Day was hard for her as the loss of my brother is so painful for her especially on holidays.  I wanted to be with her but she was actually not home that day!  And I live about 2 hours away.  My Mom is the greatest, though.  I have had to go to her with some tough stuff when I was younger.  My Mom amazed me that she never sat in judgement of me.  She just stayed by my side when everyone else abandoned me.  That still amazes me today!  She is just one of the most generous people that I know.  She has been there for me in so many ways that I can not even begin to name them.  I hope to be the kind of mother that she is.

My gift for Mother's Day was some bareMinerals makeup which I've been wanting for a while.  We are trying to live healthier lifestyles and get chemicals and such out of our home.  This was one way that I wanted to help!  ~wink, wink~  Anyway, I'm still waiting for my order to come in.  Hopefully soon!

One last note in this update, we decided to sell our house.  It is too small for us.  Way TOO small.  We are going to get that going and we are going to get our homestead.  We've been wanting for a while to have a little homestead since we both love to garden and such.  So we hope to be in our new home on our homestead by Christmas!  Hopefully sooner.

Leaving with some Mother's Day pictures.

Shortly after this picture, Dave snapped this one that shows what life if really like in these parts...
