Long time, no blog...
It's been a whole month since I've blogged! Having a new baby in the house has kept me from being here much. I've checked blogs here and there but usually had my hands too full to type my own! However, we are starting to get into a groove around here. I'm still not able to accomplish much more than cooking, washing the dishes and washing the clothes. But I figure that I've got the basics covered there. We're fed and clothed...everyone's happy...
So here's what's been happening in our neck of the woods...
Homeschooling - We've been doing our math 4 days a week and reading various books from our large collection and the library. I think that I've finally nailed down our curriculum decisions for the next year and will soon be ordering. I've changed my mind somewhat from what I previously listed here. I'll post what we're using once I've ordered it because its apt to change again.
The Kiddos - Everyone's doing well. The boys have been going to Terrific Tuesdays at church and having a good time. While there, they've done crafts, learned Bible stories and other various activities such as boat races, water games and a trip to the zoo. They've gone fishing with their PawPaw T. and Uncle. Big Little Sister is trying to learn going to the potty which is not going well at all. And everyone says that girls are easier. Well, they've never met Emma either. She is just a little stubborn about the whole process and I'm personally very frustrated with it right now. That's another post for another time. Baby Sister is growing after our previous worries and concerns. At our 2 month doctor visit last week, she was at 11 pounds 14 ounces. We are still having to supplement with formula due to low milk supply but she only receives 6 - 8 ounces a day, mainly in the evening. She gives us a lot of smiles and giggles and is an all around happy baby.
Sorry no pictures. I'm not able to resize them right now because that option was a temporary feature on the photo program that we were using. I'll probably purchase it because I really like to post my pictures.
Vacations - Dave, Abby and I just returned from a little vacation to the mountains. It was to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We had a good time hiking and hanging out in our room watching TV. Yes, we really did lay around and watch TV. Yes, we really did enjoy it! This weekend, we are taking a short vacation with my parents in their RV at a lake. We actually won't go out and meet them until Monday and spend the 4th with them. Our big vacation is coming in September. My parents are taking us to Williamsburg with them. We are super excited about this trip!
So that's our summer so far in a nutshell!
