Here are just a few verses on discipline. Remember discipline is for correction and is given in love, and is not out of anger.

26 Also, to punish the righteous is not good,
Nor to strike princes for their uprightness.

10 Harsh discipline is for him who forsakes the way,
And he who hates correction will die.

But he who loves him disciplines him promptly.

The rod of correction will drive it far from him.
