The "real" meaning of the candy cane

We got a magazine in the mail yesterday with an advertisements for christmas stuff, candy canes, ect. Now everyone knows that candy canes are candy  "canes" right?  Well this is the "real" meaning of candy canes.

Many years ago a candy maker wanted to make a candy that would symbolize the true meaning of christmas-Jesus. The hard candy was shaped like a "J" to represent that Jesus is our rock of all ages. The candy was made of white to stand for the pureness of Jesus. The red represents the blood that Jesus shed to save us from our sins. So the next time you see a candy cane take a minute to remember the real meaning of christmas.

I thought that it was kind of neat. I never knew that a candy "cane" was actually ment to be a "J"!  And when people hang them on christmas trees each year they are hanging them upside down!  I wonder, did the candy maker actually call them  "candy canes" or was it something else like "candy J's"?

Hmmmm, Amy can make up some hard questions huh? I'm prepared! I, too, once wanted a Ragdoll cat but I wanted a cat so badly that if I couldn't choose I really didn't care what kind of cat I got! I also like reading and writing comments like you. I always like seeing the comments I get. :) Want to know something about Ragdolls? The reason they are called "Ragdolls" is because (I heard this but I'm not sooooo sure if it's true yet!) When you pick them up the flop like ragdolls. I hope you're having a nice day!

I like your post about candy canes. Yes, I did know that story but I have never really thought of them being hung upside down on Christmas trees. Although, come to think of it, I have thought of something like that. :)

Yes, I can guarantee that you are correct. When we were looking for cats, we actually got to hold some ragdolls at the pet shop and they really do flop into your arms. They snuggle right into you and just sleep in your arms. They also cover you in their fur!!! :)

Awsome post girly! Did you ever think that hanging them up side down and making them look like a cane is because it looks like the shepards staff that saw the Angels in the field declaring his birth?

I've heard that story before... it's just another part of Christmas that people have used for their own purpose instead of Jesus'. No one knows why we really have the candycanes... Thanks for Jess! ; )

LOL yea I got that from this amaziing book called the Candy cane story ever heard of it? Its a little book but its so cute. Yea Ill wait a while and pull some things together for my manner post. Rachel Dixon is the sweetest when I went and visted with the dixons her MJ and i hung out. No it wasnt you it was Mj she told me to post so i was getting at her! LOL

Yes, You would love holding a ragdoll cat, trust me!!! I didn't want to put it down. It just flopped into my arms, purred and fell asleep. :) Yes, I have to agree that most cats definitely cover you in fur! Amy is still thinking of a really hard question. She promises to get back to you shortly!

Yes, I have heard about that before; in a book that we have. I think it's kinda sad that nobody knows the real meaning of candy canes!

Yes, I have read the Lord of the Rings Im currently reading the Two Towers I love that book, I wish i liked reain i like it when it drizzels but I hate storms and things like that, Im in tornado country and for a girl from Cali that is so scarry.

That was a very nice post. I think that most people don't know the true meaning of the things that we do for Christmas. Thank you for shedding some light on candy canes. I love to eat them, but we also need to remember the meaning of why they were created!

Yes organ doesnt really get tornados. Were still getting hit heavy with rain.

Im now on chapter 6 The King of the Golden Hall pg 133 to be exact! LOL I love this book.

I got a cat! well my land loard did its a calico and it looks like it wants to kill us but Im sure its just scared. LOL

LOL so i guess Lady rachel and i are no competition for you then! LOL were both really close to eachother on this book. OF COURSE i own the movies! I still havent seen the extended version but i hope to soon.

Yea..... I was sad oh well So far I really liked the black Gates are Closed. Oh ok Ive read about the parts they left out I jut havent seen them yet Ill find a way to see them. Yea. I ve bathed cats where i work if there used to water its not that bad but when there not used to it, it can hurt. Guess what I bathed the other day! A PIG! LOL talk about hard that thing was SREAMING at the top of its lungs it was very displesed. LOLsechparty is standing by.
