Our family's new eight legged friend

Me and my family decided to take a walk today and on the way back my brother said he saw a spider. My parents were  talking so they didn't hear yet and I turned to look. There on the ground in front of a neighbors house was a small tarantula! My aunt said that there were tarantulas here but I hadn't seen them before. In fact, I've never seen a tarantula in my life.  And so, I pointed it out to my parents and my dad decided he wanted to catch it. He likes doing this kind of thing.  ;) So as my dad went and got a jar for it, me, my mother, and all three of my brothers waited. Unfortunately for me I had to watch it so that it couldn't get away.  Then it started to run so I grabbed a stick and then it got angrier. I must admit, it did make me uneasy when he tried to run up my skirt! My mom said she had never seen me move so quickly in all my life.  :D I didn't know that when my dad cought it though, that it would become our new pet. (At least for a while he said.) I have yet to think of a name for it but I'm sure I can soon. And to this very minute he is still in a jar in my parents' room. And at least he is not as, well, upset with me as he was. he looks kind of like this, 

Except he is smaller than many tarantulas so he must be a baby. I don't think I ever really want to see a full grown one LOL. So now we have three cats and one spider.

Eewwww not sure I'd feel safe with THAT kind of spider in my house! LOL

OOohhh, I believe it. We just went to Oklahoma and our friend there was telling us about all the tarantulas! I was like no way, but we went outside and there was one sitting on their driveway! My dad went to pick it up, but she told him to kill it so he did LOL. That is crazy! I thought we had big spiders!
