Spotted Leopard Moth

Hey everyone! Sorry it has been a while since I last posted. We've been very busy lately. I have two things to post, but first of all, I'm going to tell you about something we found. (As you can see from the title.) My uncle and my dad have been clearing out the backyard the past few weeks. Taking trees down, planting things, and cleaning up.  And a while back we found a caterpillar that looks like this.

 When we found it my dad put it in a jar and we've kept it since. It eats things like dandelion leaves so that's what I had been feeding it (because we have plenty of those!). Right now it's already made it's cocoon and we are going to keep it until it turns into a Spotted Leopard moth that will look like this.

They are actually kind of pretty.    :)

Anyway, my mom went to her appointment the other day, (for the baby) and guess what? It's going to be a girl! Since I'm the only girl in this family (besides my mom of course) I'm really excited. My parent's are going to name her Ella Shae Maddiex. Isn't that cute? I'm praying everything will go well and that she will be born healthy. As for anything else, not much has been going on. We all went to the Little Rock zoo Saturday and I got sick Saturday night lol. This cold I've had isn't lasting very long though because I think today mine is already going away and my oldest brother, Triton,  had it before me and my mom thought it was just his allergies because he didn't even run a fever. So not much.   :) Well, I'll post when I have more news!!!!

Our family's new eight legged friend

Me and my family decided to take a walk today and on the way back my brother said he saw a spider. My parents were  talking so they didn't hear yet and I turned to look. There on the ground in front of a neighbors house was a small tarantula! My aunt said that there were tarantulas here but I hadn't seen them before. In fact, I've never seen a tarantula in my life.  And so, I pointed it out to my parents and my dad decided he wanted to catch it. He likes doing this kind of thing.  ;) So as my dad went and got a jar for it, me, my mother, and all three of my brothers waited. Unfortunately for me I had to watch it so that it couldn't get away.  Then it started to run so I grabbed a stick and then it got angrier. I must admit, it did make me uneasy when he tried to run up my skirt! My mom said she had never seen me move so quickly in all my life.  :D I didn't know that when my dad cought it though, that it would become our new pet. (At least for a while he said.) I have yet to think of a name for it but I'm sure I can soon. And to this very minute he is still in a jar in my parents' room. And at least he is not as, well, upset with me as he was. he looks kind of like this, 

Except he is smaller than many tarantulas so he must be a baby. I don't think I ever really want to see a full grown one LOL. So now we have three cats and one spider.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!!!

 We have been busy the past three days so that's why I haven't posted yet. And the fact that I had nothing interesting to post about anyway! here is a picture of me getting ready to make the cookies.

And these are the cookies finished. It took WAY longer then this post was. In fact, we started baking at 1:00pm  and we wound up baking until 1:00am!   We also made WAY more cookies then the ones shown in the picture. I might do a short post with all the cookies we made some other time. Here is the last picture that my mom took. I just wanted to wish everyone HAPPY THANKSGIVING! And Sharla I will try to post about my Thanksgiving!
