Dance In The Rain

May. 19, 2009 - Masquerade Ball

This year our homeschool prom theme is "Midnight Masquerade Ball"

I am planning it with the help of a friend. So far we have the date and location set. The problem is it's less than two weeks away and thats as far as we've gotten in the planning. I was wondering if anyone had any idea's for us?

Last year we only had about 20 people come and we are hoping for more people this year. We have group dances and cake. It's pretty fun but this year we are trying to do something more fancy and elegant.

We want to have better decorations, we decided black and gold would be good colors and we are thinking about trying to use lots of gold stars. We have a place to take your picture with your friends. We are going to let each homeschooler bring a non homeschooled guest this year to get a bigger turn out.

Also if anyone lives near enough to attend we would adore your presence! The date is May 30th and the location is Drain Church of Christ, Drain Oregon. If you want more info private message me and I'm give you my cell number.

Well thats all for now, let me know if you can think of any ideas for us:)

May. 12, 2009 - Spring

I haven't had time in a while to post so I thought I'd take a few minutes to get this up to date on my life...

We have moved with my great grandmother and are working on getting ready to build our house. We have cleared the land and are working on getting rid of all the pesky blackberry bushes.

My doe goat kidded and had two healthy bucklings. Our chickens are laying around 12 eggs a day and we have chicks on the way and . I am getting a pair of geese and have been building their pen. Our garden is almost all planted and I have lots of flowers started in my little garden plot.

I don't have any more time at the moment but will try to log on here more often. I would love to hear about what everyone else has been doing this spring.

Feb. 3, 2009 - I got tagged!!

Hey Anna93 tagged me to do this so here are the rules. Describe yourself using the initials of your first and middle names. Try to use words that depict your personality other than your identity. Well here it goes=]

   M - mild
  A - animated
   D - dynamic
  E - electric
   L - lighthearted
  I - incomparable
   N - nifty
  E - enduring

   M - meek
  A - airy
   E - exquisite

Well that was fun, but some of the letters were hard to think of a word to go with them. =D

Jan. 26, 2009 - Lolly

I haven't really got a chance to post pictures yet and photography is one of my passions. I love taking the camera out and just taking pictures of everything.

I do quite a bit of babysitting and these are pictures of one of the little girls I sometimes watch. Her name is Lolly Paulette, here are two of my favorites.

 }She wanted to walk in the puddle.{
}She came up and said " I picked you a flower but I want it{

 I hope you enjoyed them!

Dec. 31, 2008 - Where's my Christmas Break?

Well here it is the wettest part of the year and we are moving!  We only have two more days to get the last of our stuff out of the old house and I woke up to the beautiful sound of rain. We don't have a certain time when we need to finish but we wanted to set a goal.

Our Christmas was wonderful so that made it better, but the very next day it we were right back at it. Hopefully I'll have some pictures of it ,but I'm on the laptop and the pictures aren't stored here.

The good part of moving to my grandma's is that we get to build our own house come spring. It's very exciting because we have always rented never owned a house. We can't decide if we want to buy a pre-built home or build one from scratch. My vote would be to build a nice little cottage up on the hillside, it wouldn't have to be very big only my parents and three siblings would live in it. I have been staying in my grandma's house so she isn't alone.

Although I enjoy school this time I am not  looking forward to starting up again next week. This is my last year at home, next fall I will start attending the local community college to graduate high school. I'm excited and scared to be doing my lessons somewhere other than home for the first time.

Dec. 17, 2008 - Thank You Parents

Recently I got invited to a public school dance by one of my good friends. After some thought my parents agreed to let me go. Even though over all the experience was fun and memorable, it still made me think about why I'm glad to be home-schooled.

These days your a nobody if you don't have a boyfriend . The world sends the message that if you don't have a strong and "popular" person to spend every moment with you might as well become a nun. So right of the bat you can tell who the "popular" girls are. Their the ones with the low cut, short dresses and gobs of make-up. Their the ones who are in the clique up by the dj. Their the ones who are plastering themselves to there dates and "grinding."

At first my "Date" and I sort of danced (if you can call it that) and stayed on the outskirts. After a while she helped me loosen up and we went out to the middle of the dance floor. Since we were late we were only there for two hours, so that gave us time to get our pictures taken, do the coordinated dances and goof off=]

My final impression was that it was the best can be expected from average teenagers today. But it did make me thank my parents for all the time they have put into teaching me the correct way to respond in worldly situations. So here's to parents who took the time to raise Godly, responsible, young adults.

Dec. 16, 2008 - Sorry

Sorry I have been on here in a while. My life has been very crazy ever since Thanksgiving. We just got done moving and now we are moving again.

No we are not on the run from the law nor are we a gang of cattle bandits. Let me explain,

A week after Thanksgiving my great grandmother fell and had to be rushed to the hospital. She returned hours later with a broken nose, a fractured arm, and a dislocated shoulder. So she decides that she can't be alone anymore and wants to go to a nursing home. My grandma is a extremely intelligent 88 year old who is still very healthy and active. All of the family tells her they will not let her go away and decides someone will have to live with her....... guess who?=]

So it's been a month and we have been living in two places. My day usually consists of me waking up, doing my school, my mom coming and getting me from the old house, spending the day with grandma, my dad coming and getting me, and then I go to bed.  Fun stuff,  I don't regret my parents plans, but I haven't lived in town since I was seven. So that's where I've been. But I hope to start blogging regularly once again.=]

Nov. 26, 2008 - Fun Stuff=]

My friend sent me these funny random ways to get a laugh out of life (or at least from other people)

1.  At Lunch Time, Sit In Your Parked Car With Sunglasses on and point a Hair Dryer At Passing Cars.   See If They Slow Down.

2.  Page Yourself Over The Intercom. Don't Disguise Your Voice.

3.  Every Time Someone Asks You To Do Something, ask If They Want Fries with that.

4.  Put Your Garbage Can On Your Desk And Label it 'In'.

5.  Put Decaf In The Coffee Maker For 3 Weeks. Once Everyone has Gotten Over Their Caffeine Addictions, Switch to Espresso.

6.
Order a Diet Water whenever you go out to eat, with a serious face.

7.
Go To A Poetry Recital.  And Ask Why The Poems Don't Rhyme?

8.
When The Money Comes Out The ATM, Scream 'I Won!  I Won!'

9.
When Leaving The Zoo, Start Running Towards The Parking lot, Yelling 'Run For Your Lives! They're Loose!'

10.
Tell Your Children Over Dinner, 'Due To The Economy, We Are Going To Have To Let One Of You Go.'

 Well I enjoyed them=]

Nov. 25, 2008 - Idea's....anyone?

For some holiday fun a few close families and mine decided to put on on play, but to make it more fun we also decided to make it a contest of who could write the best play. Whoever won would get to produce their play and get a money prize.

Our house has the perfect veranda to turn into a stage. We also love to play dress-up and have lots of costumes in every era.

Well here it is two weeks before the deadline and I haven't written a single line! Worst of all I don't even have any ideas. Usually when I'm writing I have tons of starters swimming around in my head, but not this time. So, idea's.......anyone?

Nov. 25, 2008 - Hello All!

Well this is my first time on this blog and just wanted to say "Hi."

My name is Madeline Mae, and I live outside a small town in Oregon. We raise goats, chickens, rabbits and a have horse and donkey. I am the oldest of four and have been home-schooled my whole life. We live on a hill overlooking the prettiest valley with a creek running through it.

I love to read and write, and sew and embroider. I am in the 10th grade. History is my favorite subject and I love knowing useless facts. My father is a 7th grade math teacher and my mother stays home with us. We grow a garden in the summer and bake our own bread.

I hope to have a great time blogging here and hope to meet lots of new friends.
