I haven't done this in a while, but I just HAD to share a picture of my
BRAND
NEW
CADILLAC!!!!
She is so beautiful!
She's shiny & black.
Her exterior is flawless.
WOW — does her engine purr like a kitten!
She zigs & zags beautifully!
She practically drives herself! I just hold on tight & go along for the ride!
So without further ado, here she is:
Okay, okay...so she's NOT a Cadillac, but I'm as excited about her as I was my first car (which, FYI, wasn't a Caddy either).
I've already sharpened every pencil in the house! Gigi has named her "Hoquiumptse" which is an Indian name meaning "hungry for wood." I thought she was just making it up to be funny, but apparently we read it in one of our books. How she remembered that I'll never know! I looked it up. Sure enough, she's right! So, meet Hoquiumptse.

10:34 PM, Jan. 26, 2008 .. Posted by TroopersForChristHI, Thank you for the comment. I was here yesterday reading and I don't think I left a comment. I was reading about your MS treatments. You sound like you are dealing with it very well and your dh is so sweet to be supportive. We know several people with MS.
I can't even spell the name Gigi gave your wood eating pencil sharpener but what a GREAT name! Sounds like a beaver or a termite.
You made me laugh, I saw your profile said your town was small 'no WalMart'. We have a small town in the area that finally did get a WalMart and it was QUITE the town controversy!
I see Spirit is one of your well watched movies. We bought our horse trailer from the couple that owned Spirit, the real horse the movie based his look off of! He now roams free on a California ranch.
We had no idea when we were in Central Oregon buying the horse trailer that the owner would invite us on a 'field trip' to see the Mustang herds, the stallions, brood mares, foals and yearlings!
It was so neat and so different from owning a couple horses. We got to get very close to Spirit's Dad, Donner of the Steins (I believe he's called) and he's a Kiger Mustang. The husband worked for BLM and that's how they got into adopting and breeding the mustangs. We also so he dame and siblings.
Then into the house we went to see thier office and all the Spirit memrobilia they have. (This might make a good blog post some time if I can find the photos I took.) The lady of the ranch explained how the movie folks flew in and bought Spirit. They had photos of that too. It was a very fun surprise along with her wonderful review on how to use our new horse trailer.
I hope you post about your daughter's horse riding lessons. She will love those. Sometimes we do beginner lessons and rides here for fun and it's a thrill to watch youngsters gain confidence and skills as they ride.
We started with a small pony on a free lease and now we have two or our own and are, Lord willing, moving to more acreage.
God bless you all,
Marie
