Never Forget...

September 11, 2001

Out of the clear blue sky
I saw thousands die.
I saw people jump to their death.
I saw America hold its breath.

I saw the sadness of the world.
I saw the flag at half staff furled.
I saw the grief of a President.
I saw America lose its innocence.

I see the towers fall in my mind.
I think I've seen it a hundred times.
I saw America cry and pray.
I will never forget that horrible day.

I saw acts of the most evil kind.
I know we can never turn back time.
I'll remember those who fight to save
Freedom, in the land of the brave
.

I did not write this poem.  I'm not sure who did or I'd give them the credit.  I just hope & pray that we DO NOT FORGET that day – especially this election year.  When we go to the polls to vote for our next President, we need to remember that our national security is also being voted upon.  One candidate has the experience and courage to deal with terrorism.  The other does not.

I remember where I was that day! I was feeding my 6-month-old baby girl her bottle. I was rocking her and watching the news. I was speechless! As I kept watching I saw that 2nd plane go right through the other tower. I remember crying as it hit me – I'd just witnessed the death of hundreds of people.  I'd seen scenes on the news that had happened over the years, but this was the first time I'd witnessed people dying right as I watched.  Then, a really horrifying thought hit me.  Did these people know the Lord as their personal Savior.  How horrible it would be to die in such a way and then end up in Hell for all of eternity.

I won't ever forget that day.  Just as my Mom remembers that she was sent home from school because someone had killed President JFK and as my Grandmother remembers sitting around the radio listening to news of the attack on Pearl Harbor...I'll forever remember vividly this day in our nation's history!

If there was ever a time that our nation needed prayer, it is NOW!  This election is so important!!!!  We need to pray that people get out and vote for RIGHT!  It's never right to vote for someone who believes in killing babies...even if you believe they will boost your bank account!  When I stand before God (as we all will)  I don't want to have to explain why I voted for someone who thinks it's *okay* to kill babies!

As you can probably tell I had a bit of a heated debate with a person about this recently.    I figured I might as well put my thoughts here as well.

MS flares are so NOT fun!  Just got home from 3 days of hospital treatments.  Please pray I get rest and this passes soon.

Thanks,

About Me

I’d like to share my adventures homeschooling a little girl who is creative, opinionated, & funny! God blessed us with her through adoption. I'm going to use "Gigi" as her name in this blog since that is the name of the character in her favorite book. Also, I'll share some about how I'm adapting to my new life with MS. My husband is a WONDERFUL man & completely supportive of this adventure! I lived an extremely hectic life for years & I loved it!! When God blessed me with Gigi I knew it was time to give up that lifestyle & focus on her. I am SO GLAD that I am spending these precious days with her. I wouldn't trade it for anything in this world!
