Great Day!!!
|
Today was a great homeschool day!!!!! We got all academics accomplished and had time to run to the library and grocery store. The girls even had plans to make cookies when we returned, but decided to play together instead. The girls (ages 7 and 9) colaborated(sp?) on little projects and pretend play ideas and it was wonderful to see them getting along so well. I love it when they are "sisterfriends", which they often are due to homeschooling.
All chores were done and I got 2 loads of laundry done. Hubby cut up the watermelon when he got home and we had it before dinner.
I decided to subscribe to God's World News magazine for the children for current events which can be counted as Social Studies for school. And with all that is going on in the world, I think they need to be aware of it on their level.
Matthew spent a few hours over at a friends and then took a long bike ride.
Prayers have just been said and we are herding the children toward bed.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.
I am so proud of you for getting the academics done.
Cookies sound yummy. But, I bet the girls had fun anyway :)
Library? hmmm. We plan to go to the library today to learn more about globes and atlases.
Have a wonderful school year.

Hi,
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I am surprised at our similarities. I am the same age as you are. My girls are 10 and just turning 8. My last son is younger, though. He's only 3. I'm glad your day went well. Ours was a flop, but we'll try again today.
Have another great day,
Jeannine

Read a few entries, found you on random blog...we just subscribbed to God's World this year too. Haven't got ours yet? I did it for my boys probably about 4 years ago. We liked it but couldn't keep up (it was every two weeks, or maybe even weekly then.) I'm hoping with the new monthly format we'll be able to keep up and not feel like we're wasting it!
