Up this morning and getting ready to go to the house of God. What a thrill! Just to know that I have the freedom to get up and go worship my Lord this morning without having to worry that someone is going to throw me in stocks & chains if I am caught. That's something my flesh would not like, but in the spirit, I suppose it would be just fine. Beings my Lord suffered for me, I should be willing to suffer for the name of Christ.
Today the world forgets the suffering He done for us & how he said if you be ashame of me before men, I'll be ashamed of you before my Father. The world is in this fashion if I am around a person & they act like they don't have a problem with me being a christian then I'll let them know that I am. On the other hand, if I am around a person who acts like they don't care for christianity then I'll just not bother to let my light shine. Besides, if I let my light shine around that type of person they might not be my friend, or ..... What has happened to the true love of Christ? What happened to the first commandment where Jesus said, "Thou shalt not have no other gods before me."
Most people look at this commandment as some other object or person as another god, but this can go in many directions. Most of us don't want to admit it either, that sometimes we, our self, can be the other god we put before the God, Jesus Christ our Lord & Savior. That old self-pleasing spirit, that spirit of having everything we want, right when we want it, just how we want it, & no other way except our way. I know you all know what I am talking about, help us God? Help us learn the true meaning of love, the love like Jesus showed us when He went to calvary. Lord just help us get our flesh under your subjection & walk in your spirit?
Well, I don't know how I got off on that, but it's good for us, a reminder that Jesus should be Lord of our life in everything.
Our week has been great in school this week. Yesterday I was getting some things together for our notebooks for this week. We are going to study the Milky Way & galaxies this week. I got some things together that would be like things that you'd put in a lap book, but we are going to arrange them on notebook pages instead. I'll try to get pictures and post them. I think the pages are going to be so cute & such a fun way of learning.
I had always thought that people learned so much from just reading, but I never knew how true that was until just lately. My children & I have just been reading books & some we've taken notes as we've gone through & others we have just read & I have seen my children pick up on so much. No long drawn out study, just reading through the book. It has been great.
I am looking forward to planning my school year for the new year coming up in August. I have a feeling it is going to be our best year ever.
