My Grace Is Sufficient For Thee

• Nov. 19, 2009 - Not Much Schooling

Posted in Family Life

Well, we haven't been getting to much schooling this week. My sister is expecting a baby & she has been having contractions, already started dialating, & she'ss not due until DEc. 9. She has been having to go to the Dr. a lot & being put on monitors to monitor the baby so I have had her other children. My nephew is only 23 months old. Sometimes he gets to be a hand full.

I told my DC we'd get back on course when Aunt Amanda had the baby. Until then we'd just do what we could & the rest would come later. That's the beauty of homeschooling.

Better go, just wanted to update. Have to get off here to check on my nephew. Don't want to leave him unattended too long. Until next time, Traci

• Nov. 14, 2009 - Fall Cleaning

Posted in Family Life

My DD is sitting here with me & when she saw the title of my blog she said, "You aren't kidding!"  I think she's insinuating that I've been making them clean too much.

My home just seemed like everything was just piled up & I got a belly load of looking at it so I told them we are going to get this junk out of here. I have sent 10 Walmart bags & 2 garbage sacks full of stuff out already. I have 6 more Walmart bags & 1 more garbage sack of stuff ready  to go out. It is amazing how much stuff you can collect without even realizing it. We still have a little ways to go. My house already looks & feels cleaner.

I love to have a clean, neat, organized house. With being a homeschool family, we all know how that goes. One minute it is so tidy & the next it is out of control. I suppose we need to be more disciplined & it would stay tidy all the time, help me Lord.

Thanks to our long hard effort, we'll have a great looking house for Thanksgiving. We'll be ready to get Christmas things right out after Thanksgiving & start decorating with no cleaning before.

Our schooling is going great! We should be finished up with our books that we are reeading about Thanksgiving right on schedule.

That about sums us up for now. Until next time, Traci

• Sep. 26, 2009 - Prayers Needed

Posted in Family Life

Hi everyone, I desire your prayers for my aunt & uncle. My uncle found out that he has cancer. Exactly one week to the day my aunt found out that she has two types of cancer. This is a husband & wife. Their children are devistated.

My aunt was told without treatments she had less than a year. Even with treatments they are saying only five years. She starts treatments on Monday.

My uncle is to have surgery. He put his surgery off until November so he could be with my aunt. Pray that his doesn't progress in the mean time.

Their names are Gene & Barbara. Please pray? Traci

• Sep. 8, 2009 - Enjoying My Family

Posted in Family Life

Our weekend has been great, along with our Labor Day. We had enchiladas & banana pudding. That was not exactly my idea of a well balanced meal, or even one that sounds good together, but that is what my bunch wanted so that is what we had.

Then, last night we went bowling. I am bowling with the handicap league for 24 weeks so I am letting my children bowl also for a portion of their P.E. grade. Last night was the first night that we monitored their score & they did pretty good for it only being the second time that they had bowled.

Today, our school day ran smoothly. After we had done most of our book work inside, we went outside and they journalled a page in their Nature Journal. When they finished with that we jumped omn the trampoline. Yes, we jumped on the trampoline. I'll probably be half dead tomorrow. I'm sure I used muscles I haven't used in I don't know when. My DC were enjoying it so much though that I couldn't resist. That makes memories & that is what I desire for my children to have is lots of great family memories when they grow up. I wan't them to have fond memories of their childhood home life. In order to have those memories we have to make them, even if they are breaking Mamma in the process. Please pray that my body will hold up until my DC are grown.

I think that updates our happennings. It's time to wind down and gear up for another day. So until next time, bless you all, Traci

• Sep. 4, 2009 - A Day At The Park

Posted in Family Life

Today was a fun-filled exciting day. We met some more homeschoolers at our local park to let the DC make some friends. This was our first time meeting with them.  Everyone was very friendly and we are looking forward to going on field trips etc. with them this year. They seem like a great group.

We have just begun a bit of music appreciation this year. Yesterday while we were in Wal Mart we walked by a T.V. playing some music & my DD asked, "Mamma, is that Mozzart or Beethoven?" It thrilled my heart that she recognized that style of music & we weren't even having school. She's learning to notice her surroundings more.

Tonight, my little Sweety Girl has gone to spend the night with her Me Mah. She's probably having a blast, but I am sitting here wishing she was at home. There's just something about having my little blessings snuggled tight in their own beds & I can kiss them good night & tell them I love them. Of course, I told her that before she left and kissed her, but that's just not the same. I just don't think I'll ever get used to them not being here inside our little happy home. I like for my babies to be with me. They are so missed when they are not.

I've rambled enough for now so I'd better go. Until next time, Traci

• Dec. 9, 2008 - I'm Still Here!

Posted in Family Life

Well, I've done it again. I've left a gap between the times that I have posted. I'm not appologizing though. I have been moving right along with our schooling & spending time with my darling little ones. We have been having a great time this year with our schooling.

We have only had one problem with our schooling this year & that is we are wanting to spend more time on one subject than what we are probably supposed to be spending. My children are getting very deep in American history, reading up a storm. Even my little man that used to hate to gear me say, "It's time for your reading." Praise God for moving in that situation. He has been caught reading on several occasions now. Only the mighty hand of God moving in his life. That is what prayer will do.

I find in all situations when I feel that I have gone as far as I can go & am on my last rope holding on, God always comes through for me.

I am at the library at the present moment while my DH is hunting books, I am trying out a new program on the computer they have gotten for blind people. It seems to work very well. This is great! From now on, while my DH is looking for books I can get some computer time.

Well, won't drag this post out. Just wanted to get my blog updated. Hope all is well out in homeschool land. Blessings to you all, Traci

About Me

My name is Traci & I am a homeschool Mom of 2 wonderful children, Sarah Grace & Zephaniah. They are my little prayer partners. It's only through prayer that we make it day by day. I am legally blind so my call from God is a little more difficult than some, but I feel like God would not have it any other way than for me to train up the children He lent to me in life.Proverbs 3:5-6 says Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. That lets me know that God will give me the strength day by day no matter how hard the task may be.
