Sep. 1, 2008 - Today's Simple Woman's Daybook
Outside My Window... it hasn't been daylight long. The days are getting shorter, but today is supposed to be sunny and warm with blue skies.
I am thinking... about what I want to accomplish today.
I am praying...about adopting and for our friend Paul in boot camp.
From the learning room...ready or not, we're starting tomorrow! But we're starting slowly, mostly just trying to get back into a routine.
I am thankful for... Audie and Levi and Truman.
From the kitchen...
Tuesday - Spaghetti
Wednesday - Beef Stew
Thursday - Fish and Potatoes
Friday - Chicken and Biscuits
Saturday and Sunday - each day we have an afternoon family reunion picnic.
I am wearing...blue cargo pants, an orange t-shirt and a long-sleeve, button-up, denin shirt.
I am creating...order and routine (or attempting to).
I am going...to take Truman for his morning walk when I finish this.
I am reading...Romans, Levi's school books and Created For Work (Practical Insights for Young Men) by Bob Schultz.
I am hoping...to get back into using the treadmill and free weights. I've been slacking off lately.
I am hearing...Trumans toenails clicking on the hardwood floor and Levi making his breakfast.
Around the house... I need to vacuum, clean the bathroom and wash bedding.
One of my favorite things...homemade baking powder biscuits fresh from the oven, with some jelly on top.
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: start school, find a rhythm to our days that works for us - a framework, but not too rigid - one that we can stick with.

Nice meeting you too Stacie, thanks for stopping by my blog page. I home educated some but not to the extent as Kimberly. I'm proud of her and am thankful that she has such a wonderful encouraging friend as you. I'm sure it goes both ways with you and her.
I like the name you gave her..Keeter.
Thanks again,
Jan

A rhythm for our days, that is what I need to find. The kids have their own rhythms that are slightly off from what I need (they are staying up WAY too late right now which means sleeping in.)

Wow, you surprised me with your adoption post. Yes, prayer is key - if it is God's will, He will bring it about. I would love to adopt another child or two (or more) lol and like you, not a baby, but have the same situation. I'm just leaving it up to the Lord and whatever will be, will be. I'm guessing being that I am almost 50, it won't come to pass, but you never know.
Your week sounds delicious - love your menu plans. Fun picture of Levi and his pals too. Have a good week my friend!
