Sep. 30, 2008 - Learning on Sick Days
Levi and I have been sick with a head cold type of sickness, and have been feeling achy and lethargic. We've been napping, resting, reading and watching TV. I am so ready to feel better and get back into a routine, but don't want to rush it. Whenever I try to do too much I feel like I've been run over by a train.
I have to say that for sick days I love Netflix and documentaries! We can take it easy and still get a little education. We've watched three Animal Planet documentaries - one on hyenas, one on rhinos and one on giraffes. We also watched a National Geographic documentary on Lewis and Clark. And of course, a few episodes of Little House on the Praire.
We have many more animal documentaries in our instant queue, and another one on Lewis and Clark. Tomorrow I hope to do a little bit more than just watch TV, but I'll have to see how we feel.

It sounds similar to what I had a couple of weeks ago, fever, achy, very tired, congested chest. Thankfully the worst of it only lasted a couple of days, but still some congested. Get feeling better soon! I like to veg out with some good dvds too - historical ones or ones from Vision Forum or Franklin Springs are my favorite - I can't sit still for too many fictional ones.

What a great idea to watch educational things on "sick" days. I will have to keep that in mind.
My son is 7 and this is our third year of homeschooling. (Unless you count the little bit of pre-school stuff we did too LOL)
I think there are pros and cons to each: having just one and having more than one. I usually tend to focus on my personal pros, but there sure are days when I think it would be easier if there were at least two of them. LOL
