Financial Help

I decided to read a few blogs before going to bed. I am seeing the same thing come up on a few of them. It has to do with the matter of finances and the lack of them.

Handsome and I went to a Dave Ramsey seminar and it was the best thing we ever did. I think you can find out the information at www.daveramsey.com

He is a christian financial advisor that had a lot of money, lost it all, and has plenty of money again. He has a radio program too. I think you can find it in your area by going to his website also, that is how we found him. (from the radio program) We started doing what he teaches and it has helped us tremendously. We personally do not own credit cards because anything you can do with a credit card you can do with a debit card the only difference is if the money is not there then you can not purchase it , which keeps you from making impule purchases and it helps you think about what you purchase and think about how much of a need versus how much of a want it is before making the purchase.

When you take time to think about it most of the time you decide that you don't need it, you don't need it just yet or you can do with a much less exspensive model than the one you intended to purchase.

I hope this helps any of you that read this blog. Please give it a shot.

Until next time:

            Have a Blessed Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jan. 4, 2008 - Love That Man!

Posted by Jazzymom

Dave Ramsey is awesome! I love how he tells it like it is!

One of my goals for this year is to restart the baby steps. I've wanted to follow his plan "with gazelle intensity" for 4-5 years, but my husband (soon to be ex) refused to get on board. We even went through FPU 3 years ago, but he wouldn't "do" the plan (He actually got MORE credit cards WHILE we were taking the classes!). Ah, I guess it's like Dave says "Those convinced against their will are of the same opinion still."

Now that I'm looking at being a single mom for a while, it's more important than ever for me to get my finances under control.

Keep me posted on your progress and remember beans and rice, rice and beans. LOL!
