I have been so tired today. Yesterday Handsome got up about 4:15 because he was going on a business trip. Well, dd woke up and never went back to sleep so I had to stay up. I was up unitl after 11:30 when Handsome got home and we all got settled in for the night. Even though I turned the alarm off we were still awake by 8:00 (that is actually sleeping in for us). I am feeling my age more every day I think. lol. Well, I guess this has just not been my day. I had a little bit more typed but then I hit a key and erased it. I couldn't do that on purpose if I tried. I am not even sure what key I hit but whichever one it was it erased two paragraphs. Well, good night and Until next time: Have a Blessed Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Donna |

Well, it is the first day of the rest of the year!! What are you going to do this year? If you read my last post then you know that we set the wheels in motion before the new year arrived for us. So far it has been going great! Hopefully it will stay that way. I have a little bit of cleaning up to do so need to sign off soon. Go to www.flylady.net and she will help you get your house cleaned up too if you just follow her suggestions. They are pretty easy to follow and you actually see pretty good results when you do. So, until next time: Have a Blessed Day!!!!!!!!! Donna |

Well, it is New Year's Eve. The last day of the year 2007. When you look back upon it just what did you accomplish? Were they good things? Were they bad things? Were they indifferent? What kind of difference did you make it somebody's life and was it a good difference? I am sure that each of us had a little of all of these. I know I did. Now we have a new year to make another start and to see if we can do better in the upcoming year. Handsome and I do not make New Year's resolutions because we figure we probably would not keep up with them anyway. We did sit down together and draw up a list of things that we needed to change as a family though and we started implementing the list the very next day. We decided that it was important enough to go ahead and get a fresh start immediately. Our family had been getting farther and farther away from each other and as a result we were not being very nice to each other. Now, we still spent a lot of time together and by together, I mean in the same house. But, most of the time we were in separate rooms doing separate activities. Handsome would be on one computer or watching tv while the kids were on the other computer or watching tv while I was doing the same thing. We were becoming strangers to each other here in our own house and it was not becoming a pretty sight. We now are sticking with a schedule that Handsome and I set up. The kids have not been very happy with it so far but even after just two days we can see an improvement in their attitudes. Of course, or son, being twelve almost thirteen, has the attitude anyway but even that is getting better. My biggest problem was submission to Handsome. Now Handsome and I have a pretty good relationship. We have been married for over 17 years and never had a fight or arguement but when the wife does not submit as the bible tells us to then problems start arrising and they were for us too. The biggest area of submission that I am having to deal with is in regards to disciplining the kids. I am stricter than he is, so therefore feel like he is to lenient on them. I would tell the kids to do stuff or quit doing stuff, whichever the case may be, after he had already told them but I would normally add something onto it. Well, that is not backing up your husband in the area of parenting, that is undermining his authority and it teaches the kids to be disrespectful. It is not a good thing. It was causing disrespect all the way around. The kids were gettting very disrespetful to their father and to me and why not, we were helping to teach it to them. Yes, Handsome is taking his share of the blame to. He has realized that he does not like confrontation so it was easier to just not say anything. But a problem only stays a problem if you do nothing to fix it. So, ending the year of 2007 and beginning the year of 2008 our family has been making changes for the better. Oh, I almost forgot, the very first thing that should be done is a DAILY DEVOTION to God. You know what, our pastor preached on this very thing yesterday in the morning church service. For once, I was doing what he preached before he preached it. lol. That is all for now. So, go take on the New Year. Do something out of your comfort zone and see how much you will be blessed for it. Until next time and unitl next year: Have a Blessed Day. Donna |

We enjoyed our Christmas holiday. On Christmas Eve we went to my inlaws house and opened gifts with Handsome's (that's what I call my hubby) side of the family. My sister-in-laws sister was there which we weren't expecting, but we gave her one of her sisters gifts that she was happy with and my sister-in-law was happy that we had something for her too so she didn't feel left out. From there Handsome and I received a solid oak cutting board that his dad made for us. I got a small, but very heavy white metal dove to put in my rock garden outside. A beautiful bag that my mother in law made from a table runner. A M&M radio with head phones from one of my nieces (she knows I really like M&M's), a cute little basket with three didn't kinds of cinnamon in it, some cinnamon sticks, some basil and some poppy seeds. We had white chili and stew with cheesy, green chili cornbread and butternut chews and pumpkin bread for dessert.
On Christmas morning we opened our gifts. I got a kitchenaid mixer, a set of "white diamonds" perfume, bath bubbles, etc., some Victoria Secret's "Heavenly" perfume. A abalone heart shaped necklace that my twelve year old son put together for me, some chocolates from him also, a 2007 snowflake teddy from my five year old daughter and some chocolates from her too. Then Handsome's parents came to our house for breakfast. We had rib eye steaks with mushrooms and onions, eggs, and hot homemade biscuits, with hot spice tea and hot chocolate to drink.
We then went to my parents house for a turkey dinner with all the trimmings. We got a box of homemade goodies with assorted cookies in them. My mom also gave me a bracelet that she had. I got to spend quite a bit of time just visiting with my Mom after everyone had left and the kitchen was cleaned up.
All in all we (at least I did) had a terrific Christmas day.
Now, today though, it was back to work as usual plus extra work. Because of the Christmas holiday we had a ton of extra packaging to do to get sent on its way this afternoon. I also have to clean up my living room from the mess of yesterday. I did manage to clean the kitchen before we left for my parents house and it was oh so nice to come home to a clean kitchen at least.
I hope the rest of you enjoyed your day as much as I enjoyed my day and enjoyed my family and friends around.
Until next time:
Have a Blessed Day!!!

We had our annual family Christmas party last night. Handsome and I started doing a Christmas party for our families. We grew up together and our families all know each other so we do one party and invite everybody. It is part of our Christmas present to our families so nobody is supposed to bring anything but a gift that cost a dollar or less to play dirty santa with. Our menu consisted of Mexican Shrimp (once a again it was a hit. So much so that my mom requested that we make it to bring for Christmas day when we go to their house). Vaquero Soup (from a mix) Some soup Handsome made up (It was very good too) Sante Fe Cheesy Corn Bread Barbecue Pork and buns (from a wild hog that Handsome killed this past year and we put in the freezer) Celery and Carrots with Blazin' Saddles dip and/or Southern Spinach dip (again, these were both from mixes) Pickles, Olives Seedless Cucumbers in a gourmet Garlic and Basil vinegar Rice Krispy Treats Apples with a Ceamy Caramel dip or White Chocolate Raspberry dip (it was your choice and again these were made from mixes) Monster cookies (that Mom brought just because she wanted to) Guacamole (that my sister in law brought just because she wanted to) Hot Spiced Tea or Ice Tea or Water to drink, whichever one they preferred. It was a terrific party. We had 22 their. I missed my sister and her family this year though. The dirty santa party was fun. It is really fun to watch somebody, especially the kids, when somebody takes their gift and they either have to take someone elses or go get another one. The kids have a blast playing the game too, even the youngest ones. I particularly like watching to see who trades who for what when the games is completely over with. Not very many of them go home with the gift they ended up with. Until next time: Have a Blessed Day |

Well, It has been a few weeks since I blogged again. I just get so buys with the everyday things that I neglect my blogging. We had a great Thanksgiving. My husbands brother and family got to come in from Shreveport to spend the holiday with us and celebrate their youngest daughter becoming a teenager. As a result of the teenage girls deciding we needed to have a Mexican cook-off for the birthday Handsome and I came up with a new recipe that was a great success. Here is the recipe (at least as close as I can come) Mexican Shrimp 3/4 pound of bacon, chopped 1 medium onion, finely chopped 4-5 cloves garlic, minced or chopped 2 cans lime and cilantro ro-tel 1 whole lime, juiced 3/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped 5 jalapenos, seeded, rinsed in cold water and finely chopped 3 lbs. of pre-cooked shrimp salt and pepper to taste. Cook the bacon until translucent, add the onions and the garlic, cook until onions are translucent. Add jalapenos, ro-tel, cilantro, lime juice and cook for a 2-3 minutes. Add the shrimp and cook for another five minutes. Remove from heat and eat like it is, inside a flour tortilla or however you want too!! Handsome's father, who doesn't like shrimp at all loved this dish. I normally only like battered and deep fried shrimp and that is it. But this dish doesn't have the fishy taste so I really liked it too. oh yeah, the kids loved it too. It was not to hot even though there were five jalapenos in it. Deseeding them and rinsing them in cold water takes most of the heat out of them but leaves the flavor in them. It was definitely the hit and the winner of the cook-off. I also got to try Flan for the first time. I decided I did not like that at all unless it is completely frozen and then it is just okay.

I ate too much today as I knew I would. But, it was so delicious!! Everybody but my sister and her family that now lives in Virginia was there. It was good Skeet!! I went to a doctors appt. on Fri. She told me that I needed to go back with the white diet for a little longer. I decided I would definitely cheat today and start the white diet tomorrow (Monday). I will take off and cheat again on Thursday (Thanksgiving Day) and then pick it back up again until the end of the year. I will probably take off Christmas Day too. Maybe by then the yeast build up in my system will be all gone. I am now taking something called Candisol to help expedite matters too. As long as I take it at least an hour before I eat anything or two hours after I eat anything then it works to get rid of the yeast. If I do not take it like this it still works but only as an enzyme to help digest food, not as a yeast eater. When it is taken on an empty stomach then it eats away at the membrane of the yeast that is there, converts it into protein for your body and then it is digested. On a full stomach it just aids in food digestion. I do not have to go back to the doctors until towards the end of January of next year. Well, I guess that is all for tonight. Until next time: Have a Blessed Day!!!! |

Well, I went to my Moms house today to help her cook for tomorrow. My sister in laws were there also. We made pea salad, potato salad, lemon pie, apple pie, a pumpkin roll, macaroni salad, dressing, got the turkey stuffed and ready for the oven and I can't remember what all else we made. Now I get to go back over tomorrow and help eat it all. I was getting all ready to come home when my dad came home and said he had to go check on my brother (who is handicapped right now) because he had called and said he had shot at a deer but was not sure if he had hit it or not. (Today is opening day of rifle season for deer hunting her in our neck of the woods). When they got back they had a pretty good sized doe that my brother had shot. I had to stay and help them get that ready to take to the Hunter Check Station. For those of you that might be animal rights activists and might be reading this: what we were doing was legal and although you probably choose not to believe it, it is necessary. As a matter of fact, here in our area right now they have been letting some extra hunting be done because the population is getting to high. When the population starts getting to high then diseases and sicknesses start spreading through the population because they start running out of food. They start running out of food because there are to many of them. As a way to help control the population hunters hunt. And yes, we do use the deer for food ourselves. We either butcher them ourselves or take them to the butcher and have it done. It then goes into our freezers as deer chicken fries, deer steaks, deer hamburger, deer liver, etc. My personal favorit is deer jerkey. Well, it is back to Mom and Dad's house tomorrow to eat all that good food. We get to do it all over again Thursday at Handsome's brothers house. Until next time: Have a Blessed Day!!!!! |

It has been awhile again since I have blogged. Life had a way of getting in the way of my blogging. Also the Webkinz that I have been playing on instead of blogging. I got my daughter one and she plays on it a little bit everyday. She has figured out what "AS HUNGRY AS A HORSE" reallys means. When you purchase one of the animals you get a code that you key into the website and have the same animal in a kid safe virtual world that you have to feed. You have to earn money to purchase the groceries to feed. It is a pretty interesting site. I liked hers so much that I got my own. I also got a leopard for our twelve year old son because he kept wanting to play on his sisters. He has the room all fixed up for his leopard. There is nothing girlish about it either. It has a jungle theme. They both have a garden planted that they have to take care of every day. They get to harvest the fruits and vegetables when they are ready and put them into a que to feed the pets when they get hungry. It is a fun learning tool for them. They can also send mail back and forth to each other, to me and to one of their cousins that has a webkinz account also. We are celebrating Thanksgiving at my parents house this Sunday. My Mom asked if we would come go to church with her on Sunday morning and then we could all go to her house for lunch. Jasmine and I will be going over to her house tomorrow to help her start cooking and getting everything ready for Sunday. It worked out great for us this way this year because Handsome's youngest brother and family may be coming in for Thanksgiving and if they do they will stay with us. We won't know for sure yet though until next Tuesday. (that is their payday and when they will have a better idea if they can make the trip). My mother-in-law has been making jewelry for the past year or so. She finally put up a booth in a church bazaar. She made a little bit of money today and still has tomorrow to go. I think it has helped to give her more confidence in what she has made. She makes some really cute stuff. Somebody posted a comment on my blog that they were thinking about starting to sell things on ebay but wasn't sure how to go about it. It is really pretty easy. You just go into www.ebay.com and register to be a seller then do the steps it walks you through. You might want to register to be a buyer first though unless you already are. We personally use the TurboLister that you can download free from ebay to post all of our auctions. You do not have to use this one, there are other services out there that you can use, I just do not know how to use them. We have also found the TurboLister to be pretty user friendly. You can e-mail me if you have any questions and I will do my best to help. I have been trying to figure out how to put an online chat thing on here but can't seem to get it in the right place or get it to working on here. Any help in this area would be great. Jasmine and I have finally started the Butterfly unit study and have been having a ball doing the lapbook. Well, I think I am going to go feed my Webkinz now, harvest her garden, give her a shower and put her to bed. Then I am going to put myself to bed! Until next time: Have a Blessed Day!!!!! |

It has been a while since I last typed here on the blog. I have been kind of busy with Handsome's ebaying. We have been trying to figure out that online shipping thing. We have been trying to figure out how to pay for and print our shipping labels online. It is rather frustrating but the more I work with it the better and quicker I get at it. If any of you out there in the blog world have some tips or anything I would be grateful. We can use all the help we can get. I am currently talking online to my fifteen year old nephew who has just informed me that he is writing a book. From what little bit he has told me it sounds pretty cool. This is the same nephew that composed his own song on the viola (I think that is what it is called). He is going to send it to me so I can read it. My nieces and nephews are very talented if I do say so myself!! I think my own kids are too!! He just let me read the first nine pages. It is so awesome. It made me happy and made me want to cry too. I think he will do good with it. I do not have permission to share any of it yet though. When he becomes a famous author I will let you know. lol. Well, that is all for tonight. Until next time: Have a Blessed Day!!!!

Handsome and I had a child free night last night and most of the day today. We love our children and we love our nieces and nephews but sometimes you have to have couple time. After all we had five years of just couple time before our son was born. The kids enjoyed the Farmer's Market yesterday morning. They loved getting to talk to all the people and of course since we are regulars there everybody wanted to know who all the extra children were. The nephews bought a pie pumpkin each to take home. We bought fried pies and had them for breakfast. The weather fair was a blast too. The kids brought home a lot of paper clutter but at least I only had to keep some of it at home. The majority of it I sent home with the nieces and nephews. After the weather fair we stopped by Grandma Bennett's house, even though she is technically Grandma to just my own two the nieces and nephews think she is also their grandma and call her Grandma Bennett too. I brought the kids home, told them to get all their stuff together and then called their parents to set up times and places to get them all back home. Then it was back to Grandma Bennett's to drop my two off with her. It was about 7:00 P.M. when I got home. Handsome was home from the Gun and Knife Show. He had a lot of interesting stuff to tell me about all the things he saw their. We had a nice quiet evening at home. It was so nice!!! We got up early this morning to go back to the Gun and Knife show. It is aprrox. 1 1/2 - 2 hour drive from our house and is only twice a year. Here is the web address if you would like to look it up: http://www.tulsaarmsshow.com/frames.html I personally collect mother of pearl handled knives. I bought one knife for my personal collection today. I saw a lot more that I liked but did not want to pay some of the prices they had on them. Handsome collects old stag handled sailors rigging rope knives. He did not see very many of them there today or yesterday. The few he did see were in worse shape than his were. I have a bracelet made out of fifteen small fish shaped mother of pearl pocket knives. Someone tried to buy it from me today. He told me that is was probably worth around $1100.00 - 1300.00. I told him that it was a Valentine's Day gift from Handsome that I really liked so I was not going to sell it. That sure was tempting though. I also had a pendant on a chain that is a two blade decorative mother of pearl pocket knife that I was wearing. It is in the shape of a ladies fan and has carving on it. It is missing a piece of the pearl on both sides on one end. He said if he had it he would probably have a price tag of about $500.00 on it if the pearl had not been missing. I am keeping it also although there was another gentleman that looked at it and really liked it too that might have bougt it if I hadn't told him straight off that it was a gift from Handsome. So, it was a very interesting day today. When we got done there we ate lunch at an Italian restaraunt. It was called Carrabas Italian Grill. It was delicious. We picked the kids up and came home. The kids wanted to play a game so we played Sorry and Blow It. They are now watching a movie with Handsome while I take care of all my computer stuff. My pastor will probably be calling tomorrow to see why we were not at church today. Here is a link if you would like to look at some of Hansome's knives that he has on ebay right now: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=330177126766&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT This is why we go to the shows like this. Handsome buys inventory to resell on ebay and in some booths he has in a couple of antique shops. This is kind of long so I guess that is all for tonight. Until next time: Have a Blessed Day!!!!! |

I gave Ethan the walkie talkie yesterday and told the kids they could go exploring but they had to be very careful and very watchful. They wanted to know why so I told them about the big cat that is somewhere around our house. They decided they would just stay in the yard where the dogs were and not go exploring. They did think that every hole they saw in the yard was a cat track though. lol. I am just glad they decided to stay in the yard, that way I was saved the worry about them. I went to pick up two of my nieces this evening. Now I have two nephews and two nieces here with us spending the night. Jasmine and one of the nephews made chocolate chip cookies this afternoon. When we got back home from picking up the nieces we ate a quick supper of homemade pizzas and then went to the dollar theatre to watch Rattouille (I don't think I spelled that right). After watching the movie and getting back home all the kids made one glitter pumpkin each. I have two gold, two copper and two irredescent off white glitter pumpkins setting on my kitchen table drying. They are very excited that they get to take them home and use them to decorate their homes for fall. It didn't cost me a fortune either as the pie pumpkins are $1.00 each, I had already had the glitter from the ones Jasmine and I did earlier this month, I already had the elmers white school glue and paint brushes in our school supplies too. I think it was a very fun evening for not to much money. $12.00 for the movies for the whole family (our dollar theatre is $1.50 per person) and $6.00 for the pumpkins. Movie and an activity for $18.00. I would say that is pretty inexpensive family entertainment for a Friday night. The pizza was homemade with ingredients that we already had so I didn't count the cost of it. Plus, the kids will remember it for a long time. Skeet, I wish the kids were here so they could have went to the movie and made the pumpkins too. E-mail and I will tell you how. It is very easy. Tomorrow the kids and I will go to our local Farmers Market. They love to go because I normally purchase a fried pie from the vendors for each of them and another one of the vendors gives away a free cookie to each child under thirteen. The cookies are delicious. I have been trying to duplicate one of their cookies and I almost have it figured out. I just need to eat a few more cookies to finally get it. After the Farmer's Market we will be going to an Annual Weather Fair in a neighboring town. We have never been to this weather fair and are all looking forward to it. Handsome will not be with us as he is going to a Gun and Knife show that comes to town only twice a year. All the kids are going home tomorrow evening and my two will probably spend the night with grandparents tomorrow evening too. Handsome and I will go to the Gun and Knife show again. I do have to make sure that somebody will be at church though to take my place in the nursery. After the Gun and Knife show it is back to Handsome's brothers house for a birthday party for another nephew of ours that will turning fifteen on Sunday. It has been a fun week-end so far. I think I will sleep in Monday morning though. I don't have anything on Monday's agenda except to go to an activity that the "School Of Deaf" will be doing. It is mandatory for our sign language class to go so we can practice our signing. It is not until 6:00 P.M. That's it all for now. Until next time: Have a Blessed Day!!!!!! |
|
Good morning. Finally a good nights sleep. The kids were all put in separate rooms to sleep and I think all of them were asleep before we went to bed. It is 8:00 and they are just now starting to wake up. We have nothing on the agenda to do today. I think I will let the kids make some glittered pumpkins so my nephews can have one each to take home with them. Since we live in the country they will probably want to go exploring. I do not think they are going to get to do that though. Handsome talked to a couple of friends yesterday that have been hunting approx. two miles from our house and have been hearing the screaming of a panther. If you have never heard one it will curl your toes. They showed Handsome a picture of one of the panthers paw prints they had found and taken with their cell phone camera. He said it was enormous. So, no, I do not think there will be any exploring today or for a little while around our house as the big cats normally travel within a twenty miles radius or more. I definitely will be praying for the safety of the kids now every time they just go outside to play. Off to start the day. Until later: Have a Blessed Day!!! |
|
Remember yesterday when I said it was easy getting the kids to bed because I kept extra sleeping bags. Well, I forgot about how hard it was to keep them in bed. I was up at 11:30 telling them that they needed to get to sleep. I was up again at 2:00, my daughter was awake because my two nephews were setting on the stairs talking to her. My son was still in his bed but he was reading a book instead of sleeping. They were all told they had better get back in bed and go to sleep!! About 45 minutes later Handsome got up to tell them that they had better get to sleep or there would be consequences. I think just the threat of consequences from Handsome did it. We did not have to tell them to get quiet and go to sleep again. We had NO SYMPATHY for them this morning when we woke them up and they started saying they were tired. Tonight they are putting their sleeping bags in separate rooms when they go to bed!!! Jasmine in her bed. Ethan in his bed. One nephew in a sleeping bag in the kitchen floor and the other nephew in a sleeping bag in the living room floor!!! I plan on getting some sleep tonight! Until next time and hopefully after a full nights sleep: Have a Blessed Day!!! |

We went on a field trip to a local pumpkin patch today with our homeschool group. It was a lot of fun. We did a hay ride, walked through a corn maize, petted and looked at rabbits, chickens, goats, baby pigs, ducks and calves. Every body that paid got to pick their own pumpkin. It cost $5.00 per person with the group rate. I did not think about putting any sunscreen on so Ethan, Jasmine and I all got a sunburn today. The kids had a ball playing on the things that were set up to play on in the hay area too. I took one of my little nieces with me, she is three, almost four. She had a ball too. It was a very busy day today. After the pumpkin patch we ate a late lunch at a local hamburger and ice cream place here called Braum's. My brother and his wife met us there to pick up my niece, their daughter. Then it was on to Wal-Mart to start stocking up on candy for the Trunk or Treat that we will be having at our church on halloween, since it is on a Wednesday night. Then home to drop the kids off with Handsome. I was home about ten minutes before I had to leave again and go to my sign language class which runs from 5:30-7:30. One of my other brothers (I have three all total) called to see if I wanted to meet him to pick up his boys. I had called him earlier in the day and asked if they could come stay with us. They are out of school until Monday for fall break. So, after sign language it was off to pick up my two nephews, who are eight and nine years old. On the way home I stopped to pick up the pizza that Hansome had called the order in for. Two large pizza's. One meat lovers and one combination. It only cost a little over $8.00 though since we had a ten dollar credit with them because of issues we had had with them on a previous visit. Back home again, eat the pizza, and now type on blog while Handsome, Ethan and one nephew watch a movie and Jasmine and the other nephew play the game: "Guess Who". Handsome is waiting for his ebay auctions to go off tonight so he can send his invoices before going to bed. I do not think I will wait on any of them. I think as soon as I get done with this blog I will catch up on a little e-mail and then just go to bed whether anybody else does or not. It is easy getting the kids to bed. I keep extra sleeping bags for when the nieces and nephews spend the night so all they have to do is put their night clothes on, roll out a sleeping bag and crawl in. I only keep the adult size sleeping bags so it doesn't matter what size the kids are. One size fits all. lol. Tomorrow will be just as busy. Go to classes with the homeschool group for most of the day. Help Handsome package and ship and then church tomorrow night. I did give up my girls class at church so I will be able to set under some teaching myself for a change. I am so looking forward to it. I purchased a new book and received it today. I am looking forward to getting started on reading it. The name of it is "Praying God's Word". It is by Beth Moore. Until next time: Have a Blessed Day!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

It has been a few days since I have posted. For one reason or another I just haven't spent that much time on the computer this past week. I did go to my doctors for my annual check up. Their scales showed I had lost two pounds since my weight watchers meeting two days before. It also showed that my blood pressure was very low. I guess that is why I have been getting a little dizzy and having some headaches lately. We are working on getting the blood pressure issue taken care of. I had an appt. for my check up on my eyes today. In June of 2006 I had Lasik eye surgery on both eyes and boy am I glad I finally made the step to have it done. Even though it was scary everything turned out great. My vision now is 16/20 which is one better than 20/20. They told me that I have healed so well that I don't need to come back for anymore checkups unless I just started having problems. I think that is all my brain can think of tonight. It is kind of tired from getting up so early for my appt. (it was at 8:00 AM, but it was an hour away from my home so we had to leave at 7:00). Also, my blood pressure is feeling low today so that is affecting my thinking. Boy, if I could just get half the things wrong with me straightened out I will feel like a whole new person. lol. Between my doctors, my husband and me- we will get it eventually. Until next time: Have a Blessed Day!!! |

I normally do not go the Weight Watchers the second Tuesday of each month because I have a club meeting to go to, but this morning I was still sick so I called the Vice-Pres. of the club (I am the Pres.) and told her I would not be there. I gave her some instrucions and left the rest up to her. I did go weigh in at Weight Watchers but did not stay for the meeting. I probably needed to stay though as I gained a pound this week instead of losing anything. I guess those chips and salsa caught up with me. lol. I am not going to eat anything I am not supposed to for the rest of this month for sure and see if I start losing weight again like I did in the beginning and was doing everything I was supposed to be doing, Starting today. I will have to make the same committment again next month but I think just one month at a time is all I can handle, especially since my doctors restrictions right now are so much stricter than weight watcher's to help me get rid of the Candida build up in my system. I did go back home after weigh in and soaked in the bathtub for about an hour, then got out and took a shower, ate a little bit and then took a nap. I was trying to get myself feeling well enough to take my son to his 4-H meeting this afternoon and then to his Gem and Mineral Clug meeting. I am now at the public library typing this while he is in his Gem and Mineral Club meeting they hold in a community room open for public use here at the library. I still do not feel good though and will be leaving just as soon as he is done. I guess that is all for now. Until next time: Have a Blessed Day!!!! |

We made the glitter pumpkins and they are so elegant looking!!! Jasmine thinks they are just beautiful! Jasmine and I had a lot of fun making them and it was a quick easy clean up. We did not paint the stems as suggested though. They are setting in the middle of our kitchen table as the centerpiece. We have two copper ones and gold one in a long rectangle white dish and an off white one in a square dish right next to it. Here is a link to the unstructions with pictures: http://www.artglitter.com/ProjectOfTheMonth/projofmo-06-09.html I hope you try making some and enjoy them. I have been rather sick today. I have had headaches before due to TMJ and/or sinuses and due to an allergy to caffeine but I had never had a migraine at least not until last night, at least I am pretty sure that is what it was. My head hurt so bad it felt like it was going to fall off and I was so nauseas (I don't think I spelled that right) but never got sick. It hurt just to lay my head down so after I went to bed I got right back up, went into my living room and sat in a chair for a couple of hours. I finally went back to bed. I have had the headache still today but not the nausea. I also have run a little bit of fever today. I hope I will be feeling better tomorrow as I have a club meeting to go to in the morning and I am supposed to take Ethan to his 4-H meeting in the afternoon and then to his rock and mineral club meeting in the evening. My husband would do it but Tuesdays are one of the days he puts his ebay auctions on. I guess that is all for today as my head stills hurts enought that it is hard to think straight. So, until next time: Have a Blessed Day!!!! |

Those chips and salsa today were delicious. We actually went through two bowls of chips. As you can probably tell we went to a Mexican restaurant for lunch. I had a chicken burrito with no beans and double rice. I always pour the queso over my rice and then put sour cream on top of that. There was no calorie or point counting today. We had a ball going to antique shops. We gave Mom some money to spend and then went to antique shops in Sulphur and Davis, Oklahoma. She bought some jungle print candles that were on three different height stands and an elephant shaped jungle print picture frame that matched the candles. She bought a few cameos and a few rings. I didn't spend to much until we stopped at the next to last place. They were going out of business so everything was 1/2 of whatever it was marked. I purchased three trunks for $3.00 dollars each. I also purchased quite a few decorative tins for the goodies we will be making and giving as Christmas gifts. I purchased an old picture frame that I will try selling on ebay. I purchased some gallon size ziplock bags of old junk jewelry. Mom picked out a few things she wanted from the junk jewelry, I kept a few things for myself, I kept a few more things for my daughter to put in her dress up box and the rest I gave to my Mother-In-Law to do somethig with and because she makes jewelry. I purchased an old wooden orchard picking basket which is for my own personal use. I don't have any bearing fruits trees or anything on my property that has to be picked but I have friends call me throughout the year and say they have plenty extra of this or that each year and if I come pick it then I can have it so I go pick it. The basket will help out tremendously with that. I just had fun shopping and visiting with Mom. She will be 58 tomorrow. Our son found plenty or rocks to purchase today at the antique shops, more than he normally finds. I told him he could have one of the trunks to help store his rock and mineral collection in so he has spent quite a bit of this evening figuring out which ones he wants to put in the trunk and how he wants to put them in there. Handsome found a few knives that he brought back home and will be listing on ebay soon. On the way home I ate a whole cookie dough blast from Sonic all by myself, well except for the one bite that Mom took. She decided it was to sweet for her. She is diabetic so said she didn't need much more than that anyway. All in all we just had a fun relaxing day. I will have to be good the rest of the week until I weigh in Tuesday though if I want those scales to go down instead of up. Until next time: Have a Blessed Day!!!!! |

I Did very good today on not eating what I am not supposed too. It was very hard though as my daughter wanted to make chocolate chip cookies for her grandma and poppy that were coming over to eat supper with us. We had pinto beans and mexican cornbread for supper. I normally fix fried potatoes to go with this but I deteremined that it would be just to much temptaion on me so did not fix them this time. I promised my husband that I would not eat anything I was not supposed to today and since I always keep my promises I know this will work great for me. I am not going to promise him that tomorrow though because we will be taking my Mom to antique shops for a belated Mother's Day gift and for her birthday which is this Sat. and I am not sure where we will end up eating lunch and just exactly what we will be doing. I am taking tomorrow off, within reason. I will let you know how it goes tomorrow. Until next time:\

As a result there are some really unusual gifts sometimes.
Since they moved to Virginia they were not able to come this year. We missed you Skeet, tell Scott and the kids we missed them too and everybody asked about you guys. Even Ethan, he wanted to know where Buckley and Dusty were.
I tell you I don't think that boy can remember anything.
