Dec. 16, 2007 - LAX Tryouts (already)
Nate attended the assessments today for the Lightning LAX League (9-10 yr olds)... (he's #21, wearing the green/gold helmet).

He was a little rusty but once he got out there in his gear, he got his groove back.

Oct. 21, 2007 - The Legend: #41
An End-of-Season Picnic was held to let the kids celebrate their progress and accomplishments, get their trophies and eat cake! After the formalities, the coaches and dads played a scrimmage against the team. Fortunately, there weren't any referees around...

Oct. 20, 2007 - Kent's Football Season comes to an End
Well, all good things must come to an end and thus, Kent played the final game of his first Football Season today. The boys really played well and demonstrated that they had learned alot during the past two months. Kent had an amazing tackle which through the Grace of God, Daddy got on video and Mom got some photos.

Aug. 2, 2007 - Are you ready for some Football?
Kent is now officially a 'Football Player' as tonight was his first practice on the 5-6 Clinic Team for North Harford Rec. They started practice with some stretches and warm-up drills then did some sprints. The best part was when the coaches introduced the kids to some tackling moves.

May. 18, 2007 - LAX Season Finale
The End-of-Season Party for the Jarrettsville Rec Lacrosse Junior League was today. Nate's team (the Tykers) played a scrimmage first, then Quinn and Kent's Clinic group played their first-ever scrimmage. Quinn and Kent were on opposing teams. Playing Center, Kent (#7) dominated the entire field. Within the first minute of the game, he took control of the ball at the face-off and immediately went right to goal. His opponent was in shock. Before the game ended, his ball found the net again... he was the only player on either team to score the entire game. Quinn (#6) played mid-field and did a great job staying on top of the ball and keeping up with his man. All players were presented trophies after the scrimmages.

May. 12, 2007 - He's taking the Goal over...
Nate decided that he would like to play Goalie for his lacrosse team. Although Mom and Daddy were a bit anxious, we supported him since he was so determined. Well, turns out that he knew what he was doing... he defended that goal like a pro!

May. 4, 2007 - Waterlogged
Today is our last day of swim class at Kids First Swim School. The boys have been taking class here for nearly two years. They really enjoyed having Ms. Kelly as the instructor during the last few sessions. She was a fun teacher. Of course, no one compares to Ms. Flora in Kent's opinion. Now that summer is just around the corner, the boys are looking forward to putting their swim skills to the 'real' test.

Apr. 14, 2007 - Nate takes the field...
Mom was beaming with pride as Nate takes the field for his first lacrosse game. He played mid-field and had 2 assists and 1 goal! It was an awesome game. Nate got into a groove and kept up the momentum. We tried to capture the big plays on the film but weren't successful because we were jumping and screaming too much. Great game, Nate!

Mar. 6, 2007 - Bundle Up and Play
Tonight was Nate's first practice as part of the North Harford Rec Tykers lacrosse team. And, boy, was it cold! Still, the coaches kept the boys moving, the blood pumping, and the sticks flying. Nate was glad to have gloves on his hands and a knit cap on under his helmet. Mom, meanwhile, was bundled under a fleece blanket on the sidelines. BRRR!!!!

Feb. 25, 2007 - Show us what you can do...
Today was the day for Nate to show his lacrosse skills at the North Harford Rec Lacrosse Assessment Session. It was a bit nerve-wracking and, to be honest, Nate was quite intimidated at first. But, he showed courage and got out on the turf to demonstrate what he could do with a lacrosse stick. We met all of the coaches and are eager to find out on which Tykers team Nate will be playing.

Feb. 8, 2007 - Boys on Ice
We met up with some fellow homeschoolers for the Ice Skating Meetup at Ice World today. It was a great turnout and the boys braved the ice with the help of the pvc training supports available at the rink.
