Dear Kathryn,

Today It's Still raining! thunder storms too. Nothing much else to tell except that aunt Lottie and Uncle Jim are coming this afternoon. They'll Bring My cousin Loretta along and will be here for two weekends. Loretta is my age,And a dear too. I really Love her. She'll be a nice companion. She has headful of Golden ringlets , and the bluest of eyes.Perhaps once this rain lets up I'll take her to be introduced to Allan. poor lad. I still pity him. I'm sure Loretta would like him.

Ah! well, there's the tea bell! I must run or I'll get scolded by Mrs. Riemer (she's one of the maids. A right orderly one she is too. It's a tremendeous  disgrace, in her eyes to be late for anything.)
