Writing Contest!
Do you have a great blog entry on your blog? Would you like to see it in print and in bookstores world wide to encourage other parents?
I have a new book coming out next year called 'JUGGLING WITH HAMSTERS' RAISING AMAZING KIDS WITHOUT CHASING YOUR TAIL (Lion Hudson). The final chapter is going to be entirely blogs from TOS HomeschoolBlogger! The winners of the blog contest will have their blog entry in print and receive a free copy of 'Juggling with Hamsters' before it hits the bookstores. The first 5 to submit entires will receive a copy of my current book Dear Lord, I feel like Whale! along with a FREE one year subscription to The Old Schoolhouse for your or a friend.
Winners will be chosen in the following categories:
Inspirational
Encouragement
Best parenting moment so far
Challenging
Kids wisdom (Winner will receive a prize but NOT be in the book.)
Organized living
What a great way for your family's story to go world wide! A great keepsake for years to come! A great way to raise the international profile of HomeschoolBlogger and your blog!
Readers of the book will be parents of all ages, not necessarily Christian homeschoolers. They will be looking for encouragement/inspiration on the trek of
parenthood. Do you have a best tip to share? Something that makes your home life really work? The key to having happy kids? What's on your heart for parents?
Judges will be Spunky, TOS publisher and Jane Bullivant. There will also be a Bloggers Choice Award where you can vote for the best entry (details to come. Stay tuned)!
Each entry can be no longer than 750 words please. (Ideally around 500)
Copyright remains yours. TOS and your name/ blog/website (your choice) will be credited in the book. Blog entry may be edited for punctuation/clarity.
Contest Submission Details
- Your entry should be your original work
- You must be over 18 to win. (Except in Kid's Wisdom category)
- Your entry must be posted at your HSB blog
- PLEASE! Send the URL link to your post in the email (You do not have to put the full post in the email. Just the URL)
- Please put in the subject line of your email "Contest Entry" and then the category you are submitting it for. EXAMPLE: Contest Entry: Humor
- You will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours.
- Limit 2 entries, per person, in DIFFERENT categories
Closing date is October 14th. All submissions need to be sent to
spunkyhomeschool@thehomeschoolmagazine.com
Sorry, submissions to any other email will not be acknowledged or accepted.
All submission will be posted as a contest post at Spunky's site on October 15. So others will see be able to read the entries and vote for the Bloggers Choice Award from all categories)
All Winners will be announced on Friday, October 21st.
