Dec. 5, 2005 - Another Crazy Moment -- It All Happened At Once!!!

Hi Ho Silver,  Debbie blogs again!!!

For a Monday,( I usually call them "slug days"), today was pretty good. I think I rolled out of bed at 10:00 or thereabouts. And amazingly, the kids got some good lessons done  and I even spent some one-on-one time with them!  Hey  I even put away the Thanksgiving decorations!

In the evening, I was " indoor grilling" chicken, since the lovely oven won't ignite. My oldest son needed help rolling up his sleeping bag(we had a cozy fire the night before & the kids slept in the LR). So I left the chicken (but not in Wesson oil like Mrs. Brady on those commercials), to help my son. About 2 minutes into it, our big fluffy black kitty had been visiting the pet lizard, except not from her usual perch. She must have stretched from the table to get on top of the cage and in process brought the whole thing down. And this was after my son had dumped the whole container of  WORMS onto the floor!  So I yelled "CAAAT" like I do when they're naughty kittens, and grabbed the unbroken tank off the floor.

But while still holding it another son who rushed to see the cause of the chaos, was screaming  upstairs. He had fallen on the stairs. So, upstairs I went to help him. And that chicken just kept grilling away. Thankfully my dh rescued it and was chiseling it off the pan when I came back. And it was still edible. Plus I got rave reviews for the instant mashed potatoes!(I had never used those before).

Then we all took a night walk to see the Christmas lights!

At least this bit of chaos beats the old pot boiling over, while the doorbell rings and the phone rings, and the baby cries!!

Hey Mommy, you left out the part with all the screaming and yelling! What's up with that?

What a pretty blog you have! I think we can all relate to your experience. I can remember, with embarrassment, the time I left grease on the stove because one of my boys needed to go potty NOW and returned to find flames. I won't tell you what I did next because it does not speak well of my wisdom...but let me say that no real damage resulted. Blessings ~ Patricia

It's good to know that (a) you're alive and so are your kids and (b) life in Cleveland can get as crazy as life in Colorado.

No, it couldn't be.....Did you draw a pic of me.... Wait, I'm a brunette, I have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 Children and a LOT of animals (lots of sheep-that's why we need one of Gena's mutts, fowl-all kinds, rabbits,a horse, a donkey, 2 stupid dogs, a lazy cat and goats). So it must be you. Glad to know I'm not alone.

I'm not really from one specific place, but I am a YANKEE! I lived in Flushing, OH when I was just a babe, but my mom is from Stubenville, OH (I think that's how you spell it.) Some of my cousins still live there-I don't know where exactly, but somewhere. Have you heard of either of these 2 cities? Ohhh, doe you ever go to Cedar Point? what FUN! Do you like salt and vinegar chips? my FAVORITE! Last ? I promise....should I vote for your DH?

Mar. 27, 2006 - Off topic, but needs to be said...

I am sending out a "mass apology" to everyone I told about "The Clean Heart, Clean Home Challenge". I have received some comments in regard to leaving the button on people's blogs and I feel the best way to make sure there aren't others who are offended, is to apologize to those I sent the notice to.

I feel just horrible that some thought I was "advertising" in some way when my intention was to share with other homeschoolers what I was offering as encouragement and a way for us to join together.

If you are one who was upset by my post, please feel free to delete it and email me or leave a comment on my page and I will personally apologize. To those who have joined in The Challenge, I'm so looking forward to what the Lord has in store for us and hope we will all be able to bless our families and grow in the Lord through it! Thank you most importantly for seeing my heart. I never meant to disregard anyone's post when I left the comment about the Challenge, and want you all to know that anything you ever have to say to me, whether on topic or not, is more than welcome on my blog. I will also be making a new category on my blog that will list those of you who don't mind getting urgent prayer requests or information from time to time. I hope this way I will be able to avoid upsetting anyone similarly in the future.

Thanks for allowing me to comment on your blog. I hope you will accept my apology (and not be upset that I'm "off topic" from your post, but I have many people to get to still tonight).

In Him,
Amy Verlennich
