Sleepless Nights

Another night, and even less sleep.  Up at 4am this time.  Can't sleep, can't settle my mind.   This time I think its too much running around, too much busy-ness.  Another busy day ahead with little time to rest, unless I want to skip schooling, which I don't.    I need to pray at hours like this, but I don't want too.

I.  Want.  To.  Sleep.

I hope you sleep well soon. Have you worked out to try to get those endorphins up?

Deb, I have this problem all the time. When it is night, the enemy's minions play with our imaginations, which causes us to not be able to quiet our minds.

My solution is to make the sign of the cross over myself, make the sign of the cross on my pillow, lay down in bed, close my eyes and say the Lord's Prayer, the Hail Mary, and the Jesus Prayer. Then I start to go through my prayer list and say, "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God have mercy on the servant of God -insert name.-" Usually I fall asleep mid-prayer.

If I'm having a particularly bad time, I will put my prayer rope inside my pillow case against the mattress so when I tuck my hand under my pillow (that's how I sleep), I feel the knots and it helps me focus on God and not the thoughts that run through my mind like a movie on a screen.

Hope these help.

Love, Athanasia (Philippa)

Sorry you're having this issue, Deb. I often do also, and it's always around 4 am. I hate looking at the clock, don't you?

I think for me it's a hormonal thing from everything my older Titus Two friends tell me. Calcium, and exercise is supposed to help. The other thing I've noticed lately is if I'm reading online late at night I don't sleep as well. I have read that any kind of "screen" time is bad for sleep when it's done before bed.

Hey, it was nice meeting you in person. I enjoyed our visit. Let's do it again, and when you have time I'll treat for a cuppa.
