What was that?
That was a month!
What did it just do?
It just flew past without you noticing it go!
I'm not sure where the time is going at the moment, but I do know that things have been BUSY with a capital B!!
We are still waiting for anything to start on the house. They *just* covered the roof over last week to stop the rain pouring in. In the meantime we have had a months worth of heavy rain pour into the house and reak more damage than the fire did! So the insurance company are in for a HUGE bill by the end of this! I meet with the surveyors again tomorrow morning to see what needs doing now.
The meeting with Social Services didn't go too well. They said no to the school move. We will meet with the schools worker for SS to discuss things further and there is still a chance that she can move later on, but she will have to return to the 'rubbish' school in September at least to start with.
They also declared that they are giving it just three more months to find an adoptive home for the kids and then they are going to start looking for a permenant foster placement instead! Just three months and then they will 'condemn' them to ageing out of the system at 18!!! Please pray with us that someone is found during that time or that we can get them to agree to a few more months.
I also had my OFSTED inspection last week for my childminding business. This is a huge inspection of several hours and if I failed I could loose my license! I had a 'satisfactory' rating two years ago when I was last inspected. This time I got a 'Good' rating which is an improvement!!! It was well worth the sleepless nights making sure all my paperwork was in order! LOL!
We have had a weekend trip to Bristol to visit Dh's family this month too. We hadn't been down to visit since November and Dad has been quite ill this spring so we really wanted to get down and see him and the rest of the family. God provided and someone gave us money for a hotel room for us and Miss Giggle and Mr Wiggle. Dh's sister had McGee and Monkey to sleep over for two nights with their cousins so they really had a great time! We normally stay at Dad's house, but due to his illness it would have been too much on him with two new children staying, so we prayed and God made a way - Praise the Lord!
In all the chaos we also had a delightful surprise last week. On Monday we made our annual pilgrimage to the Robin Hood Festival in Sherwood Forest. We always do it as a Home ed outing and we met with two other families there for the day.
While walking along one of the woodland paths we suddenly came face to face with Superfudge's Dad!! I spun around looking frantically for Superfudge and was rewarded by the sight of a smiling, cheeky, swordfighting bundle of energy darting along the path!! LOL!
They had planned on coming to the festival on the Tuesday but when they woke up and saw the weather report for Tuesday, decided to come on Monday instead since it was a dry and sunny day. We have planned to go on the Monday for months!
We enjoyed half an hour of talking, catching up and playing with Superfudge, his big brother and his Dad (Mum was at work). They had actually tried to ring us to meet up but had our old number, so had simply been looking out for us all day! There are thousands of people at the festival each day and they didnt' even know if we would be there that day - it was an absolute miracle they found us! We are so thankful to the Lord for a chance to see him. It has been 18 long months since the adoption handover and we have tried to meet up several times, but it has never worked out.
He was doing well, confident and obviously remembered us! It was the highlight of our month. We are only sorry that Dh decided at the last minute not to come with us to the festival as he missed out on seeing Superfudge. But we got pictures for him and lots of tales to tell.
Well, we have a housefull of kids at the moment and some appointments to go to this afternoon, so I better get going. Hope your summer is full of fun!
