Hiya. Yes, I'm still here. I'm sorry to those who actually still read this blog and think I've dropped off the face of the earth! Thank you for the kind and concerned comments and emails I've received.
Just quickly to let you all know. We are still trying to sort out the insurance and the burnt house. It now has a HUGE tent over it to keep the rain out, but nothing else has been done so far! Uhg! As we watch it all rot and mold now.
I have had all my childminding kiddos much more than I usually do in the summer. They are usually not really here during school holidays - but not so this year, so busy time there too.
Miss Giggles has been extra challenging this summer as she has been home full time. They also had a contact with 'Mummy' two weeks ago and Miss Giggles has been in a state of meltdown daily since then! It has been very emotionally draining to deal with as we try to help her.
Mr Wiggles has been coming on HUGELY in the past two weeks. He is talking up a storm, and coming for cuddles and to show us what he is working on! This is REAL attachment behaviour so this is just a HUGE step forward for him. We are so pleased for him and it is nice to make progress somewhere at the moment too!
We may also have some news soon that is quite exciting for our family in the way of a certain little girl who may be joining our family sometime this year after praying for her for over a year now. I will share more when there is more to tell, but please pray for us. This is an up and down emotional rollercoaster at the moment and a little too precious to my heart to share the details of. I just wanted to let you know that some of what is keeping me away is good too!
We had a short break in London with all the kids last week and had a great time. The first day was made even better by Kay and her boyfriend joining us there for the day! The kids were ecstatic at seeing her again (and we were quite pleased too!). She also watched the kids at Hamley's for us while Dh wisked me away for 'Tea' at Claridges!!!! In almost 16 years of living in England I had never been to a proper 'tea'! A fact that I mentioned to Dh in passing recently.
Last week before going I had a couple of REALLY rough days and he decided I needed a treat! (Boy do I love that man!) So he plotted it all out with Kay and booked it all in secret and wisked me away for a 'grown up' afternoon! It was wonderful, posh, delicious and sooooo delightful to have a few hours of time to talk to my DH with out a child's interruption! LOL! I don't really have photos since it was deemed to be in bad taste to take pictures of everything in a posh restaraunt! So you will just have to imagine!
We are busy at the moment getting Miss Giggles ready to return to school. I'm thankful that I home educate as back to school uniforms are so expensive! I couldn't believe what we have spent already and that is making best use of sales and vouchers off! We still have a few things to get in the next week or so and then we are done.
Her birthday is this Sunday and her party is tomorrow so we have been busy buying and getting things ready for that over the past week or so. We can't wait to surprise her with everything. This is the first 'proper' birthday party she has ever had and it is a joint one with our friends daughter who is a good friend of hers and also has her birthday this weekend.
I better get going as it's time to think of tea now (not the posh kind, just the normal supper kind) or else we might not be eating tonight. Thanks for popping in! I'll be back more regularly when school starts and we get a routine back again. See ya' soon! |
Aug. 28, 2009 - :)
After reading all that is going on with you, that's pretty much all I want to do, is to give you a big hug, and sit down and just have a long girl chat. Soon, my friend, soon. Even if it's only through Skype. :)
Thinking of you - praying for you.
with much love and affection,
Shani
