Wordless Wednesday: My Little Boy BlueBook Review ~ Big Truths for Young Hearts
Posted by Bluejane
3:40 PM, Dec. 15, 2009 .. Posted in Out of the Blue Book and Movie Reviews .. 1 comments .. Link This is my first review for Crossway, and I was glad to discover it would be a relatively easy one. Big Truths for Young Hearts; Teaching and Learning the Greatness of God.
Right from the beginning this book grabbed my attention. To be honest I thought it would be a boring book that would take up way to much of my oh so important time. After I started reading it though, it was like a breath of fresh air. Bruce A. Ware does a great job of telling the facts in an easy way that kids will understand. Broken down into 10 sections which are then broken down into smaller chapters he covers things from proving there is only one God, to explaining the importance of the church. This book would be a great read aloud, but it's also nice for teens, or people with young hearts of faith to read on their own. For myself it was great to cover some of the aspects of my faith I had not thought about for awhile. Going over why I believe the things I do, and reminding myself why I believe what I do.
Multitude Monday ~ 51 - 60
Today I am Thankful For... 51. My wonderful Daddy 52. Paintings that throw inspiration on you 53. Trashy movies that make me want to write something better 54. Christmas shopping 55. The book of Luke 56. The story of Robin Hood 58. Hair clips 59. Green notebooks/green pencils/green headphones 60. The perfect sentence What Are You Thankful For? Oh give thanks unto the Lord; for He is good; for His mercy endureth forever. ~ 1 Chronicles 16:34 Why waste time with titles?I took this picture last week when Elisabeth was standing on her desk. (probably not a good habit...) She was pretending to be a model. I think she just needs to improve the look. She looks to happy. :-p Oh, and she isn't standing on her toes...There isn't much news around here except that I've made quite a few more dolls in the past few days (except for heads and hats... I ran out) and that we finished our last Jonathan Park episode. Yesterday we listened to four or five and did the last one today... It's a good thing we can re-listen to them! :-) Oh, and we got to watch the Felicity DVD by American Girl. We borrowed it from a friend and couldn't wait till Mom let us watch it! I loved the behind the scenes! Later this week we're going to get to somewhere that I've wanted to go for a loooong time! But you'll have to wait till later to find out where it is. :-) In Love

I am soo adoring not only this song, but the meaning behind it. Brayden and Talitha wanted their marriage to be an example to all of how the Savior feels about His people: Us. 1:09 AM, December 14, 2009 .. Posted in Waiting for My Knight... My Hopes .. Link This is just beautiful and precious! Such a wonderful reminder that we need to be constantly ready for our bridegroom to come get us! Matthew 25:6 It was the middle of the night when the cry rang out, `The bridegroom is here! Go out to meet him!'I'm so looking forward to the day when my bridegroom comes! I'm in love with this song! :D ![]() ©AmandaDixon2009 Birthdays! This is my littlest brother's b-day - it was a couple of weeks ago but here are some photos: it was his 2nd birthday!![]() This isn't on his birthday - he just got into the paint. ![]() ![]() He got this as one of his presents.(he got lots) He also went to the softplay as a birthday treat. ![]() He sure enjoyed it!!!![]() ![]() ![]() Here's a cool photo my dad caught of Enoch jumping into the balls - mum couldn't figure out at first what he was doing!!! ![]() Then to McDonalds! ![]() And then to... ![]() sleep! (it did do him good!) lolThere where lots of other things to do at that softplay but just not photos. Gallop back soon to visit the post about our trip to America (2008) coming soon!!!! Also, I will be posting my birthday photos soon too! Bethany DollsI got an early birthday present from my dad this week. I kept having to ask him if I could borrow batteries for my camera (mine had died) and he finally decided that he wasn't going to wait till my birthday to get me those batteries! We've used this brand before and we know they're really good. It's been great to be able to use the camera any time I want again! :-)Next is my newest additions in the doll family. I had orignally heard about these dolls from Breezy Tulip who mentioned Salley Mavor's book, Wee Felt Folk. I checked it out at the library a while ago and I've made quite a few dolls! I think the number is around 27 or 28... Most of those were given away though so I only have about 11. I tried beads on their dresses and I like how they turned out! (sorry for the bad lighting, and the crooked pictures...)
![]() The one with the blue jumper and red hair has two braids, and the other one has a really long pony tail. I can take it out though and turn it into braids later. On all the dolls that I made before, I used wool, for hair, but you can't play with them much when they are like that because the wool starts to come apart... So this time I used embroidery thread. I think that they are fine like that and will probably make myself a few more. You might notice that they both have red hands and red/green socks... I had gotten tired of black shoes and skin colored hands so they're wearing socks and mittens. :-) I also made a toddler/baby doll that was only about 1" tall but I didn't get a picture of her. Mom things she looks kind of like an ice skater because I gave her a really round skirt that's kind of poofed out. It's really cute!
The project that I mentioned last time kind of died.. I got stuck so I might post pictures of what I had completed all ready and attempt the rest later... Legend of the Candy CaneHave you ever wondered where the Candy Cane originated, or why it is so tide in with Christmas? Well here's a little history lesson for those who don't know. The Candy Cane started out as a simple stick of suger with no flavor or hook shape. many people think it was made in Europe around the 17th century and could only be made by local candy makers because it was easily damaged. The local candy makers would make these sticks by hand and it was very time consuming. Many believe that in the year of 1670, in Germany that they would bend the candy to make a hook shape and then give it to children during their church services to keep them quiet. Later in the 20th century they were said to have added the stripes and peppermint flavor. Before that time it has been said that the color of the candy cane could have been green or pink. But many familie's use them today to decorate their Christmas trees. Many people believe that the stripes were also added to remind us of Christ's sadness as he hung on the cross. But always remember that when you lick the candy cane that the stripes dissapear to remind us that Christ did not stay sad for long because he rose from the dead.
Please tell me if I'm wrong on this.
Blessings, Tulip Prayer RequestHey, I just wanted to ask if ya'll could pray for me, cuz I have a REALLY hard Biology test on Monday(my exam's in Jan.)and I'm studying REALLY hard for it, but still, please just pray that I do well. I REALLY need a good grade on this one. Thanks Sam CcubedNI don't remember how I came up with CcubedN, but when I did everyone LOVED it and it is a family favorite. Its also quick and easy which makes it great for when the day gets away from you and you realize its after six, the kids are hungry, dad is on his way home and you haven't made dinner. :DCcubedN stands for Creamy Cheesy Chicken and Noodles. Pretty explanatory, eh? ![]() Ingredients: 2-3 Chicken BreastsDirections: Put the noodles in a pan of boiling water to cook. Cook the chicken all the way with the garlic, onion, and italian seasonings. Chop up the chicken into small pieces and put back into pan, adding in the Cream Cheese, Ranch and Milk. Medium heat til soft and creamy. You may have to add more milk to get the right consistency of creaminess. Keep on low til the noodles are done. When the noodles are done, pour the sauce over the noodles, and stir well. Make sure the noodles are covered with the sauce. Put in a oven safe dish and shred some MJ over the top and bake for about 15minutes on 400' or until the cheese is slightly brown and crunchy on top. Serve with your favorite veggies. We had it with Chilli Corn Salad for dinner, but its also really good with Fried Green Beans too. That is my own special recipe. Its simple and easy and cuts down on your time in the kitchen with is GREAT for me. ;) ©AmandaDixon2009 { Last Page } { Page 2 of 5 } { Next Page } |
