The LORD, the LORD God,
merciful and gracious, longsuffering,
and abundant in goodness and truth.
Exodus 34:6
A Brief Intro
"Morning by morning, new mercies I see" - Mercy in the Morning will hopefully reflect God's abundant mercy given NEW every morning. As homeschoolers, mothers, wives and daughters of the King, we are in need of mercy in the morning. May He be glorified.

Thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left." Isaiah 30:21
Thought for the Week
This verse has been a comfort to me over the years; to know that He is speaking and guiding me in the way I should go. But the key here is that I need to be listening for that word behind me, as the scripture above says.
I cannot always find a place of solitude and quiet in my house, so I must retreat to the temple of my heart and listen for His voice there, or just simply open the Word and hear His Word speak to my heart.
Even in the midst of chaos, He is faithful to lead us if we would just take a moment and make an effort to listen to Him. Instead of being left wondering what we are to be doing, we would know His direction whether we are to go to the right or to the left in any decision - no matter how small.
Just as our spouses desire that we confer with them on whatever is on our minds; Gods desire is that we come to Him in the same manner.
How about your kids - don't they want you to really listen to them? Not just nod as we are preoccupied with something else and not totally in tune to their words. They want eye contact so they know you hear them. God wants some "eye contact" too. If we focus heavenward, we are more apt to really hear what He is saying. His desire is to really lead us - all we need to do is really listen.
I sometimes have trouble REALLY listening -- with everything that is going on around me (six kids, two puppies, a husband, friends, church....) I tend to pray and then get back to "business". I do need to spend more time TRULY listening. Thank you for the reminder.
Deborah,
I always appreciate your devotionals, It is good to keep our eyes on the Lord. I have been also seeing some improvement in my little boys by being more cheerful. Funny how discipline is such a small piece of the behavior puzzle.
Love,
Jennifer
