For all of you who have blogging kids, HSB has opened a new page called the “Backyard”.  For the children’s safety, the Backyard is only open to registered users, and it will be similar to the Company Front Porch.  HSB is looking for contributions from kids ages 6-16, for craft how-to’s, book reviews, game reviews, and featured blogger.  In May, Awesome Stories (see my sidebar) is highlighting the origin of Mother’s Day, Joan of Arc, Stonewall Jackson, Kent State, the sinking of the Lusitania, Cinco de Mayo, Marie Antoinette, and other events and people. This is a great site where you can find primary sources for history lessons and research projects. They have recently added lessons and links for educators and students! Homeschoolers get free membership. (I am great at appreciating stuff like this and pushing it on other people.  Now I just need to get in gear and use it!)
