Waaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!

I spent a long time creating a beautiful travel log here last night, and then..... I lost my connection!  And there went my entry.  Serves me right -- I really needed to go to bed, and I got the message. Sigh. So... I will try again. Stay tuned.

I also wanted to comment on something that happened while we were traveling, something that is a sad sign of the state of the country.  We were laid-over at Chicago Midway and had stopped in the food court for a pizza. We always thank the Lord together for our meals, at home or away, but honestly we do not sound a gong or stand on our seats to attract attention.  It's just right to do, right? Well as we were cleaning up a man approached my husband and told him what a beautiful sight it was to see a family pray together in public. I was struck by this. If there are as many Christians in this country as people claim to be, public prayer should  be a very common sight. It made me cry. Our nation has forgotten God. I don't say this out of a self-righteous heart; it just makes me so sad that God's people can't be identified.

...For whatever that's worth.

It is sad, isn't it? I often wonder, after we are done praying, who was looking? who was paying attention? Not because I wanted them to 'see' us pray, but because I want them to think about it for themselves. You just don't see it very often in public. It's sad...

That is a sad thought. We, too, pray over meals, at all times, no matter where we are. Though we try not to make it a big "show". How awesome to hear what a blessing your family was. :)

I agree with your. It is sad that people don't pray more in public. We can change it one family at a time though! Maybe you gave that guy courage to do the same thing next time he's eating out. Hugs,

Prayer

Good Morning Sally~
Thanks for sharing about your experience at the Chicago Airport. How it must grieve the Lord's heart that as a nation we have forgotten Him. There have often been times when someone has approached our family as well in a restaurant or other public place, and have kindly commented on our nice family and polite children. It is an encouragement to know that other people notice, and we can make an impact for Christ where ever we are - even in the midst of a busy airport. Let us press on in doing what we know is right!

That's okay about the George Street recording. Thanks for your efforts anyway. I did write down the name of the other book that you are currently reading. I like to keep a list of books that I want to read. Perhaps this summer I can get a few of them tackled.

Enjoy your day!
Blessings~

Perhaps ....

Perhaps he was just observant. Most Christians I know do pray in public. So it is happening. Just keep on thanking God and others will follow.

Amen to that!

We too, pray all the time, everywhere, without a second thought and sometimes get comments, but it is encouraging to see another family pray as well - though not often enough. I often pray (silently) for others around us too - at restaurants & stores - they need Jesus so bad. I also grieve at the lack of taffic on a Sunday morning. Wouldn't that be wonderful if there was a Sunday morning rush hour to church (and not just in our homes lol).
