Still On a Quest for Knowledge...

More four-year-old queries out of the blue:

How do you shrug?
What's a planet?
What does "mediocre" mean?
What things aren't precious? Are scissors precious?
What is a bond servant?
What does "injured" mean?
What is moisture?
What would we do if Amy got bitten by an alligator on her leg? Would we take her to the doctor? What would she use? A cane?
Why do some spoons have holes in them?
I know what "round" means, but what's a merry-go?? LOL!

I was answering all of these questions twice, until I discovered this child has the annoying habit of saying, "WHAT?"    Now, instead of repeating myself, I ask her, "What did I just say?" And she can always repeat the answer word for word. We'll soon be rid of that bad habit!   (Now we just need to work on some of mine...)

Sally,
I just wanted to stop by and thank you for your kind words. I agree. We are special needs parents, and I know both we and Trey are specially suited to meet one another's needs through God's design. I have had so many generous words from my friends about what an honor and privilege it is to be given our dear son, and I know that to be true.

I have to say I am quite amused by your four-year-olds' questions. I have never ceased to ask them. I guess I'm four years old at heart!

LOL, I would like to be a mouse in the corner and listen to you answer all of these. With all these questions, you won't have to home school her - she will know it all by the time she is 5.

I just love these. You know I do! I need some laughs... I am so worn out this week. Maybe I am cootie-fied?

Hello

I just wanted to thank you for the welcome. I'm new at this whole BLOG thing and am hoping to meet some like minded ladies. Having just moved I'm feeling a bit isolated.

Thanks again!

Demons...
Posted by bcdricks at 5:27 PM
I wish we didn't have to worry about the college thing, but having all boys, I feel they need to be good providers. I just want them to offer their future brides what we have. Mom and children at home. It's so important and can be challenging at times. I just want them to be prepared!

We really didn't move that far. Only about a half hour from our old home, but it's just far enough away to have to start over. We now live in Tacoma, WA.

Hi DITR, That almost spells dither or dirt. Your sweet dd, Alison sent me your way. What a nice way to put your family in the desert on the top of your blog.

I had to laugh at your blog about Emily. I've been thinking my blog is mostly about our daughter and not much about our son. He doesn't seem to care and he can be a hard one to photograph but I'm trying.

Emily's letter back to PJane is adorably cute.

Your older two daughters seem to have a fantastic handle on the blog world and writing. You hardly need to post for them they do so themselves. I haven't quite convinced our dd to 'do' a blog.

Sounds like Emily has you busy at her personal encyclopedia!

In Him,
Marie

Oh the things little kids say!

I just had to post a comment...my daughter is almost 12 now, but when she was little I would write down the funny things she said and one that your daughter said brought back memories. I don't remember what age she was - but my daughter too asked what "mediocre" was...only I had it written as "meaty-yoker" because she said she knew "meaty" but wanted to know what a "yoker" was! Too funny!
