The following are characteristics that make dieting difficult for some. Ask yourself if you have these.
1) Do you confuse hunger with the desire to eat?
2). Do you have a low tolerance for hunger and cravings?
3). Do you like feeling full?
4). Do you fool yourself about how much you eat?
5). Is food your comfort?
6). Do feel helpless and hopeless when you gain weight?
7). Do you focus on unfairness? Example.. Saying "How come she can eat and not gain weight"?
8). Once you reach your goal weight do you give up and go back to eating like you used to?
I think these are all self explanatory. Thin people think the opposite.
The solution at a glance is...
* If you struggle with weight loss, you have a different mind set about food and eating than people who don't struggle with their weight
*The way you think-seeing hunger as an emergency, overestimating the discomfort and duration of cravings, underestimating how thin people restrict thier eating-makes it more difficult to stick with a diet.
* No matter what your mindset is like today, you can learn how to change it, not only to lose weight, but also to make sure that you keep it off-permanently!!
I am getting to the point in the book, where there will be daily tasks to perform. If you wish to do these tasks, you'll need a few supplies.
1) index cards 3x5 -You'll want many as you will be using them a lot.
2) Sticky notes
3) A bound notebook
Looking forward, the author claims, if we use the 42 steps in the six weeks, the following will happen.
* Cravings will diminish
* You wont panic when hungry
* You'll automatically plan what you're going to eat each day
* You'll consistently follow your plan, even on special occasions
*You'll feel good about turning down food instead of feeling deprived
* You'll be happy with your results and accomplishments!!
* You'll feel better, mentally and physically!!
