Missionaries and a tag

   Hey,

Saturday morning Sarah made a birthday cake for one of our best friends, Anna. It turned out great. She did almost the whole thing by herself. Only alittle bit of help from mom 'cuz we were in a rush. Everybody was very impressed with it. While we were there, someone said we should play a game. It got narrowed down to two. Taboo or apples to apples. Apples to apples won but Sarah and I had no idea how to play so everybody was trying to tell us at the same time. We decided that we'd play anyway and we loved it. I think that is my favorite game. :-)

Yesterday we had a missionary from Mexico come and preach. It was awesome. He and his family sang some songs in English then in Spanish. Then he showed a video of the work that they're doing there. It brought back old memories of when I was going to a Christian private school. Me and my family and most of the kids and their parents went to Mexico on a mission trip. I remember one day our friends (who have been missionaries for a long time) brought some of us ride around to site-see, but what we saw wasn't pleasant. It has been 9 years since we went to Mexico but I still remember what it looked like. At 10 years old, I saw how these people lived and it's something I will never foget.

Their houses were made from cardboard boxes, crates, pieces of wood and metal. Their roofs were tarps, old pieces of metal with hole in them. Some of the house were made of mud if I remember correctly. I've always wanted to go back again but I can't go by myself so I guess I'll just have to wait and pray that the man I marry will have the same desires as I have and will want to go. Anyway, sorry about going down memory lane. I do that sometimes. Hope ya'll won't mind. :-) As I was saying the guy was awesome. It really makes me want to do something like that so bad. Him and his wife's names are David and Amy Burkett. They have 5 children and God is just using them to minister the Word. Please remember them in your prayers.

I'm not exactly sure what we are going to do today. Probably pick green beans again while mom cans them. How fun! Maybe we can go to the creek after. Now that would definitely be fun. Ok, do ya'll remember the thing I wrote about that I had on my arm? Well, I have one on my forehead. It's healing. Thank the Lord! I got tagged with this story by xxPATRIOTICxx awhile back, so here it is. :-)

Once upon a time there was a girl who loved horses. She wanted a horse but her family did not have the money to buy one, so she started looking for a job. She looked every where then she found one. It was at the barn with the horses she wanted to buy. Next week she had 10 dollars! But the horses cost 1,000 bucks. She had to keep trying no matter what happened. So the next week she went back to the barn and worked the hardest she could. At the end of the week she had ganged 15 more dollars so now she had 25 dollars, but she was still a long ways form 1,000 bucks but she would keep working till she had the money to buy the horses. She only had 4 week left till school started so she had to find a way to make more money fast. So, Miley (that's what her name was) decided to put on a concert. Her, being the star of it all, with a few other people helping. Like maybe the "Huntly Sisters" or "The Bluegrass Brothers". She decided that it would be an awesome thing and a real hit. Miley started to avertise it at local grocery and feed stores. Everybody was getting so excided about the whole thing. This would be the first concert that Andersonville had ever had.

Now I tag dixiefiddler, yodelinggirl, giftedgirl, IloveyouGod and musicRme.

Well, have to go. Hope ya'll enjoyed reading this. ttyl.

           lots of love,

               Jordan Lee

A member of my family is in Mexico on a missionary trip. I'm not sure how it works exactlly, but I think he stays down there all year around. We get reports once every month, I think. Sometimes he sends pictures of the families he's helped. I'll have to remember and ask Mum about him.

The Nice Guy Outside is doing good. I haven't talked to him today -- he really shouldn't be out in the cold anyways. -_- I can't say his name cause Mum said not too. So, for now, he's known as the Nice Guy Outside. Though he told me to add "Handsome" XD But thank you for praying for him. ^_^

Bye-cha. Kayla.

I saw the picture of the cake on Sarah's blog--and it was so good! :-)

It's always a blessing to hear the testimonies of other missionaries. My aunt and uncle are annual missionaries to Mexico. It's a blessing what they have been doing down there....

Thanks so much for your kind comment :-)

God bless!
