I’m so sorry about not writing for a while. I’ve been staying up kind of late at night, either catching up on my reading or doing some crocheting.First, I’d like to say “Thank-you” for praying for Kinley. She has been doing really well. I mean, for someone who the doctor said she had only two or three days to live. It’s a miracle. Totally a “God Thing”.
Let’s see, what have we been doing lately. . . . Mom, Sarah and I are cleaning an office building once a week. And we have been making aprons to sell at “The Big Red Store” next month. They are really, really, really cute! I want them all! Here are a couple of pictures of them.
Me cutting out the aprons
The finished aprons. We have a bunch more made.
This past Sunday, Sandy brought her kids up to stay with us till my whole family comes up for Thanksgiving. It’s been really fun having them here. Though Sarah and I have more things to do with them here, it’s still fun. The past few days, I have really had some busy days. I do chores, I help Mom do school with Pokey and Heather while she does school with Hannah, and Sarah and I cut out apron patterns so mom can sew them together. It can be quite funny while doing school with the kids. But sometimes it can get quite frustrating when they are trying to study for a spelling test but they just can’t seem to get the words spelled right, even when you try to help them but it takes 10 or 12 times before they get them right. But all in all, it’s great. :-D
A few days ago, Hannah and I made some cookies. She had a blast. Here's a couple of pictures.
While the kids have been here, Sarah has been teaching Hannah how to tie her shoes. And today, while I was sort of helping, she tied it by herself!!!! I was so proud for her! I think I was more excited than she was! :-D Here’s a picture of her, right before she tied her shoe. :-D
And, a few hours ago, Sarah had her first experience with the. . . . . . "Bar-B-Q pit"!!! Here's a picture to document that momentous moment!
Oh! Guess what!!!! We now have. . . . . "drum-roll please" . . . . . . "High-Speed Internet"!!!!! Yeah!!!! We are so happy about having it!!! Well, I think this is a long enough entry for right now. :-) Well, I hope ya'll enjoyed this and I hope ya'll have a wonderfully blessed day or evening!
Hey ya'll,
I am writing asking for prayer for a little girl in my Mom's Kid's Church class that she started to teach last Sunday.
Her name is Kinley and she was taken to the doctor last Wednesday cause she was having headaches, throwing up and her eyes were bulging. The doctor did and MRI and her parents were told to bring her back on Friday, which they did. The results were that Kinley has an aggressive tumor which is inoperable and the doctors say she is terminal and she was given 2-3 days to live. She was transfered to a hospital in Birmingham where the doctors plan on beginning chemo on her on Monday or Tuesday to try and prolong her life for a week or two more. I know that some of you would think, "why try and prolong her life?" If this was your child, wouldn't you want to try and keep her alive, even if it is for one more day? Every day that Kinley lives, is one more day that the Christians can pray for God to do a miracle. On Sat. Kinley was taken into surgery where the doctors drilled holes in her head and stomach to drain spinal fluid that has built up. This morning in Kid's Church my Mom is going to have the children make special "get well" cards for Kinley and on Monday, my Mom, Sarah and I will bring them to her at the hospital. So, I beg each of you to pray for Kinley and if at all possible to pass this prayer request along to others. Thank you all so much. Hope ya'll have a wonderfully blessed day!
As the title of this entry says, it's already one month. Today is one month that my Dad was killed. And tomorrow will be one month that we found out that he was killed. It's still really hard to believe that he is really gone. But it helps to know that he is in better hands right now. There is three songs on the radio that has been playing a lot. It's almost like each time one of us turns on the radio, it's playing. :) One of them is "In Better Hands" by: Natalie Grant. I think it is now my favorite song. It's just so true! Every word of it!
Yesterday, we went to on neighboring town to get some more vegetable plants for our garden. I don't know how it came about but Mom told the lady who owned the place about what happened to Dad and when Mom was asking her how much all the plants were going to cost, she said nothing. She gave all the plants to us!!! And we had gotten over 130 different plants! And she gave them all to us! After we loaded all the plants into the van, Mom asked the lady if she would mind if we prayed with her and the lady said no, she wouldn't mind. So, we were really blessed yesterday! God has really been taking care of us. We have had two houses offered to us, rent free along with a lot of other things that would take a while to list. And now, all these vegetable plants! It's totally a God thing! :) So, we'll be working in the garden a lot more this summer. Making sure the garden stays weed free. :) Sort of like dedicating this garden in memory of Dad. :) I'm really hoping we can work in it today. :)
Well, That's all I have to write about this time. :) I hope ya'll have a wonderfully blessed day and please make sure ya'll tell ya'll Dads that ya love him 'cuz you never know when will be the next time ya see him.
Well, I felt it was time to do another entry. :) I want to thank everybody for ya'lls prayers and comments! My family and I have been doing ok. It's still hard. You know, we still have our moments when we just need to cry and stuff. My thing is, when something funny happens, I just want to tell Dad but then I remember that he's not here anymore. So, that's really hard. But my only comfort is, is knowing that my Dad is in Heaven right now! :-) But today was a really good day for us. Mom, Sarah and I went visit Aunt Nat. My Mom's sister. Well, she's got a huge swimming pool in her backyard, so Sarah and I were able to go swimming while we were there. We had so much fun! And we are so sunburned! :) But I think it was so worth it! Sarah and I needed that fun time! And our young cousin, Gage was there, so he came swimming with us. It was a blast! I think Mom snapped a few pictures of us in the pool. I'll have to post them soon. :-) Then, after we got out of the pool, Aunt Nat fixed us some Mac & Cheese, some pizza and some hotdogs. It was totally good! :-) Well, I know this is a really, really short entry but I need to go comment back to everybody who has left me a comment. :) I hope ya'll have a wonderfully blessed evening!
Howdy, Folks! Thanks for stopping by my blog! My name is Jordan Lee and I'm a 21 yr.old born-again Christian who loves hanging out with family, church family and friends! I use to live in south/east Louisiana but now live in north/west Alabama with my mom and younger sister. My Dad was killed by a drunk driver on May 11, 2008. So, needless to say, last year was a pretty bad year for us but with God's help and help from friends, we're making it through. Slowly but surely, we're making it through. :-)
