Renaissace Faire costume..and other stuff.
i know its been ages since i wrote anything. so, i was thinking of putting pictures. :) i'm not much of a sewer, but i attempted to make myself a costume to wear to this october's renaissance faire that i'm playing my violin/fiddle for. i was thinking that a gypsy outfit would do, so a really good freind of mom's blessed me with the finances to buy all that i needed to make it. it came out better than i expected...considering i was the one who made it. hopefully it doesn't fall to pieces while i'm wearing it, that would be bad. :/ anyway, here is the dress.....

so, there ya have it. :D i'mma add a few bracelets and earings, and viola! i'll be all set. i've never played or even been to a renaissance faire before, so it will be a learning expericance. should be lots of fun, that's for sure. i'm really looking forward to it. it's going to be on the 24th of october. so i have been practicing my violin nearly everyday. and if i'm not practicing, i'm normally playing with the groups in the surrounding area. my fovorite place to play is at the autcion that is held every friday night just up the road. it's lots of fun i enjoy playing with other musicians every chance i get.

all this violin playing has also been helping me get all practiced up for a cd that i'm going to be recording this november when i go down to louisiana for thanksgiving. which i'm also very excited about. but i'll write more about that later.
blessings,
~sarah

You made that yourself? Wow. Very good!
What happens at a Renaissance fair? Other than dressing up in the period?
What! You've made a CD? Cool! Please share more soon!

Hey Sabby, the rest of your jewelry should be coming in, in the next few days, I shall mail them to you, hopefully before the faire, lol. I do wuv the dress and I think they will go quite well with it. I watched the Duggers the other night and they were screeching on the violins and it reminded me of when you first started to play, lol.

Actually, I don't think I am taking a break, I just won't be posting that often. Sometimes I just cannot stand the thought of having to make an entry on my blog. Now, comments I can handle. :-) Oh, I am just so happy you are back. Please do post more about you recording a CD, I'd want to hear about it! Thank you about my template. :-) I like yours too.

Not a sewer? You could have fooled me!
The renaissance fair sounds like fun! So they have it every year in your area?
Do you know why is it called a Renaissance fair if it's about the time period 1100-1500? I would have described that as more medieval. Do you know why they call it that?
