Glorious, Bountiful, Fall...

Posted in Ponderings

Fall has come for a visit. Praise the Lord.

Weatherbug says the temperature this morning is 63.  Wahoo!  You can’t understand what a blessing that is unless you live in South Texas.

We had school outside on Monday and took last Thursday off and went to the zoo.  Cool days are few and far between here. (If the temperature dips below 90, we feel blessed.  If the humidity dips below 100%, we throw a party and head out to the Texas Hill Country - San Antonio, Johnson City, Fredericksburg, Marble Falls…)

I don’t think Fall came for a visit at all last year. Last year Katrina and Rita came to visit.  This year we’ve all been holding our collective breaths and praying that we won’t be repeating the horror again.

Thank you, Lord for the cool weather. Thank you that thus far we haven’t had a hurricane…and it is almost October which means we are probably free and clear…Praise the Lord!

I love this time of the year. It makes me wish I lived in the country. Maybe someday.  In the meantime, I guess we will just have to get in our car and drive. Road trip anyone?

blessings,

dani

We live in south-east Texas - and the temperature this morning when I got my weather channel update was 53!!!! Having just moved from WV and thinking I'd never get to experience fall again - I have been thrilled. As a matter of fact, I ran out to get coffee and breakfast for my family while we are in the middle of moving, and I turned the heat on to take the chill out of the car!
Stay in touch - I think that eventually there will be a Texas HSB picnic - and I'd love to meet you!

I'm laughing about you turning on the heat. Isn't it fun! So rare here. My husband is a native Houstonian so anything below 75 is cold to him. He probably turned on the heat in his car too and it was in the 60's here.
I am so excited that you posted on my blog. I love your blog. I would love to meet you and to go to a HSB picnic. Thanks for the invite. Enjoy the cool weather. It tends to be fleeting. BTW, your new house is beautiful.
blessings,
dani
