Pass it on, pass it on...

The Encouragement Award.

I know I’m supposed to pass on the Encouragement award…but I’m a little stumped…not because I don’t know who to pass it on to, but because the blogs I would have passed it to have disappeared.

Now...this doesn’t mean that there aren’t other wonderful blogs out there…I KNOW that there are, but they have either already been given the award (originally entitled the Thinking Blog Award) or I’m not aware of them. (And although I would love to do so…I just don't have time to visit too many other blogs, and lately I haven’t had any time to visit anywhere except  Thinklings and A.S.Kids…both of which are wonderful and worthy of awards…Thinklings for – of course – making people think, and A.S. Kids for encouragement and help.)

But, that said, I would still like to honor the blogs I would have chosen if they were still around, because when I first started blogging these were the blogs that encouraged me the most…and just because they have “disappeared” doesn’t make them any less of an encouragement. It just means that the bloggers have rearranged their priorities (probably for the better) or switched to an easier blog host. So without further ado here is my list…

Number 1 – would have to be the famous Dandelion Seeds. She has won all sorts of awards and deserves it. What a blessing her blog was to so many.

Number 2 – Little Eblings Academy - because she was so sweet to always comment on my blog and now she is missing…and we all miss her and her cute, encouraging blog.

Number 3 – Jewels2Texas @ From the Hearth – who was such an encouragement to me when I first started blogging and stumbled upon Homeschoolblogger. Her blog was witty and encouraging and I loved the background music. She inspired me to go ahead and blog. I think that she can still be found by following the link on her page, but I haven’t visited her new blog.

Number 4 – HomeschoolNewbie @ Journey – who is a dear friend and had an encouraging, humorous blog as well,

And

Number 5HeadingHomeward – which actually might still be around, but all I can ever get to load is the header. Her blog was sweet and encouraging…

Well that’s it. Check out the two blogs I spoke about above…and here is another one of note that I recently stumbled upon…The Prattling Pastor's Wife. (The other blogs are still in my friends, if you want to check them out...but I am not providing links here since none of these blogs are currently active.)

blessings,

dani

I got this award from Blestwithsons but never passed it on. Jared ended up sort of doing it for me. I only read a few blogs so I'm not this huge blog guy. ;-)

You need to tell Mark to start blogging on Thinklings!

Thanks for visiting ASkids! Like you, I was beginning to wonder if anyone visited since we get so few comments. I have always had a had time "finding" your blog, but now I have it bookmarked so I will be around more often! Miss you, girl :-)

Brandi, it was so exciting to see your comment! I check A.S. kids all the time, but I've never felt right about commenting so I've just been a quiet lurker. :) We need to keep in touch more.
Comment all you want here. I know it's hard to find...I'm working on that. Miss you too.

Bird, I passed your message on to Mark...he just looked at me.
Do you have another blog or are you talking about (the award) A.S.kids or Thinklings? Is A.S.kids your blog or is it Blest's blog? I've been a little confused.

A.S. Kids was started by me, Brandi and Blest. It was initiated by Blest so she's like the founding member and the unspoken "leader," I guess.

She gave the award to me over on her blog, blestwithsons.com, a few weeks ago and then Jared responded to it, and a few other blogs, who had given the award to Thinkling bloggers.

We really need to get in info page up on A.S. Kids.

Yes, Dani, we do need to stay in touch better. I am a horrible e-mailer...mainly because I can't type! But I think of you so many times during the day! Especially when I feel disorganized and behind....ALL the time.

Anyways, I think, "how would Dani handle this?" Because, I don't care what you say, you are so organized and on top of things :-)

And please feel free to comment on AS kids...you are more than welcome and we wold love it. Your perspective is very valuable!

Thanks Brandi, but I am so laughing about the organization thing. NOT! This has been the craziest year and I've been anything but organized. And I KNOW you are organized and on top of things and doing a great job! I often think about everything you have going on and I feel overwhelmed for you. I’ll be over to comment.
