In honor of Reformation Day I changed the look of my blog. (I still have a few things to “hammer” out.) Isn’t Cutest Blog on the Block just the cutest!

2.  Two every day skirts – suitable for everyday life and good for sitting on the floor with a toddler, going to the grocery, or having lunch at a café. I want one in denim and one in khaki. Loose and flowing, but still hip -  mid-calf in length, not too full, but not snug to my legs (I like to be able to move around).  They need to have drawstrings or another way to tighten or loosen the waist so as to fit my changing stages of life. (Right now I’ve lost all my pregnancy weight and can’t fit anything.)  Another really cool benefit would be to have matching “shorts” made out of cotton or other material which can be worn underneath – for those times I am sitting on the floor, etc. (Size 2-4 petite)

3.  A sweet, good natured Christian girl (that is not easily frazzled) to baby sit my children as needed – preferably between the age of 18-29. That comes from a large, homeschool family and knows how to care for multiple children of multiple ages including infants and understands that part of watching children is making sure they clean up after themselves (i.e. I don’t want to come home to a house that looks like a tornado blew through). Should also be able to cook.

4.  A large country house – that sits on 1-5 acres of land in rolling countryside. Would be made of Wood and stone, although brick and stone or all stone would be acceptable. Would have an aluminum/metal roof, at least six bedrooms and an open floor plan.  Two large stone fireplaces – one in the kitchen.  The kitchen would also have an island. It would also need to have a room that could be used as a schoolroom with lots of bookshelves and multiple built in desks. Two living areas, a breakfast room, a dining room and a porch on the back. Large master bedroom and at least 3 ½ bathrooms.  A separate bunkhouse would be nice as well. Needs to be picturesque and free.

And one more thing…I can’t believe I forgot this one (I forgot this in my original post) as this has been on my “to get as soon as I can” list for a long time – and especially now since we have outgrown our current tables.

5.  A large table (possibly two large tables – one round, one rectangular) that seats 10-12 people with or without one side bench. With two leaves so that it breaks down to a smaller size when not in use. All wood. Preferably dark in color, but not black. Walnut. Under $1000.

So this little guy was delivered today courtesy of my Mom. (Thanks, Mom.)

I wonder how I get him to take out the trash?

As you can see, I’ve changed the way my blog looks again. (No more brown, no more white, no more dragonhopper. You will have to scroll down to figure that one out.) My funk is over so I think this is the last major change…and I think it looks great!

My dear hubby spent a lot of time (that he didn’t have) working on my blog last night and I am extremely thankful. Honestly, Mark amazes me. He did this after being gone all afternoon and when he knew that working on my blog would take time away from his being able to prepare for his SS lesson this morning which meant that he was up half the night and early this morning working on it and as a result is probably exhausted right now. By the way, it was an excellent lesson on James 4:13-17. Last week was great too. Now he is about to leave again…back to church for a meeting and then deacon duties. Ooops, now he is gone. Sigh. Have you guessed that one of my love languages is quality time?

On October 24^th HEB is opening a new Market (they call it a market) down the street from me and I’m so excited. (I’m so crazy! Especially since I hate grocery shopping.) I’ve been waiting forever. I was praying (honestly) for a Central Market and I got something very similar – a cross between a Central Market and a full sized grocery store…which I’m hoping means I won’t have to squeeze past folks just to grab a peach.

(If you aren’t from Texas, HEB Central Market is very similar to Whole Foods Market.)

Praise God for the little things!

The flyer I received said that on October 24^th shopping will change FOREVER! I wonder if I get a refund if it doesn’t? I wonder how long they will keep it clean and tidy? I’m hoping that because it is in front of a very nice neighborhood that it will stay neat and tidy.

The truth is I really hope my shopping experience does change on that day because I’m tired of Kroger, and Randall’s is nice, but too expensive and Walmart well…I won’t go there.  And Target… well, they didn’t build me a Super Target so they only get half of my business.  

The flyer also says that the new HEB will have a 7,000 sq. foot meat market, 400 varieties of cheese, 17 varieties of apples, 42 feet of seafood, 2,000 wines (not applicable), thousands of organics (another way for me to up my bill by another $100 or so – and I was really hoping to save money at this store, lol), an artisan bakery, and a European style deli (My mouth is watering already!).

Yesterday, Mark went into Randall’s for some peaches and came out with apples (as there were no peaches  ) and asked why we need 17 varieties of apples when it is hard enough to choose from the five or six varieties that are already offered. I’m not sure I know either…

But it sure sounds good. Apple Pie anyone?
