I can always count on stimulating conversation and sound doctrine from my dear friend Becca. She shared something over the phone this morning that has particularly encouraged me today.  

 "There is a difference  between devotion to a Person and devotion to principles or to a cause. Our Lord never proclaimed a cause; He proclaimed personal devotion to Himself.  To be a disciple  is to be a devoted love-slave of the Lord Jesus."

I pray:   "Oh, Lord, help me never to fall prey to a cause, even a good one, if it comes between You and me. Help my devotion be to You and Your Lordship in my life. Help me to love YOU more every day.  In Jesus' name, Amen. "
