The President has proposed longer school days and a shorter summer vacation.  As a homeschooler, I cringe at the thought of children in school from 7:30 to 5:00 pm.  Childhood is being taken away from so many in the name of competition. What does this bode for the homeschooling community? I'm not sure, but I sure don't get a warm fuzzy feeling thinking about it.
