The Maker's Diet and The Maker's DropOut

I think I wrote about this in an earlier post [or rather, whined about in an earlier post.]  Because of some health concerns, a friend of mine finally convinced me to look into this whole natural-living-chemical-free-Bible-diet-stuff. Can't you just feel my enthusiasm?

Anyway, I'm a very fast reader and LOVE to read. But these health books are just a bit too, what's the word?, assured? Perhaps preachy or self-righteous? Or maybe it's just that I myself fit those adjectives and don't like the competition. When I read them I'm feeling like a customer being subjected to a lengthy sales pitch. I've got to accept the whole thing right now and I'll die miserable and bloated to boot if I don't.

And now I'm not supposed to eat shrimp even though I've finally found the best seafood place in the world-a little restaurant called The Trawler just a little north of Charleston, S.C.

Okay, so I'm whining again. Sorry.

So, would someone please have mercy on me and send some hints of natural remedies for allergies/colds/cancer/warts/freckles/weight loss/morning breath/etc.?  {Actually, the allergies and cancer stuff is all I'm looking for.]

I have read something I really, really like in THE MAKER'S DIET. The guy doesn't think aerobics classes are the best way to get fit. Well, I'm sure glad of that because the last time I went to an aerobics class, I took down the entire back row due to confusing instructions.

I didn't know the instructiors spoke in code! You have to know what the moves are before you make them. So, the bumpkin here thought when the lady in the front yelled, "grapevine",  it was some sort of Tarzan joke. [Just kidding.] ANYHOO--I really did knock down--purely by accident--a whole row of fellow aerobicizers. Needless to say, I haven't been back in years.

Oh well, I have a treadmill in my bedroom and if I fall in there no one's insurance company but my own has to worry about it.

Feb. 27, 2006 - What a Hoot!

Posted by Kasey
Gin,
The aerobics class story was a hoot! I too was thrilled to read the aerobics is not the best way to get fit. I really want to find the plan that says sitting and reading is a valid exercise plan! Also, the other posts were great as well. It was a sad day here when we heard the news about Don Knotts.

About Me

What don't I write about? Mostly, it's about homeschooling, our family life, and the persecuted church. But I take sidetrips for interesting or fun topics. Don't expect perfect spelling or design here, though.
