Here's a link to the ongoing story of the Indiana saga about whether or not ministers invited to deliver the convoation can pray in Jesus' name on the floor of the House. While a judge says "no"--a bill was presented last week to protect their free-speech rights.
This is just "shake-your-head-in-puzzlement" strange. In what other name WOULD a Christian pray in? Does that mean that Muslims aren't allowed to pray to Allah? Jews can't pray as they wish and so on?
I respect others' rights to worship as they see fit, or not worship at all. But allowing a minister to pray according to the dictates of his faith is a far cry from being an establishment of religion.
I am concerned when a judge tells someone NOT to pray in Jesus' name. I tremble at how a mortal judge can presume to sit in judgement of Jesus or the reverent use of His name. I don't know a thing about that man, but I think we all need to sincerely pray for him.
