I hope to have some pics of a small spike  that I shot(For all you none hunters, a spike is a two point deer, one with two "spikes" on its head.) in Montana when we went in Oct.

I am really excited for the PA deer season which is just around the corner.

Chincoteague

Posted in Double Talk News

We just got back from our BIG vacation of the summer. Almost all of my dads side of the family converges on one spot every year to have fun. The place we go every year is Chincoteague Island VA,  home of wild ponys, great biking trails, and killer mosquitos. We all stay at a campground down there and we go swimming and bike riding almost every day. Camp fires and card games are the norm. Its something we look forward to every year. Yes, Thomas was there.

Of mice and Stellar Kart

Posted in The world according to Larry

I now have a mouse story that I can tell. I work for an elderly neighbor lady by pulling weeds, trimming with a weed-eater, watering her plants, or what ever she wants me to do. I went as usual to her house, knowing that she really likes to talk, I was standing there, in her house, talking with her before I started to work. At that point I noticed a mouse crawl out for under to sofa that she was sitting on, and the next instant I watched it bolt across the floor and and run into my foot and then dissapear under another chair. Now, you must realize that this lady is 85 years old, but her mind is still very sharp but she didn't show any reaction to the mouse so I wondered if she even saw it. So I posed the question to her. "Do you ever have any trouble with mice?" "Yes, there is one that runs around some times, why? So I told her and then I helped her set a trap, but I don't know if she caught anything. lol!!

Stellar Kart: I just got some of there music and I think they are great. They almost sound like Relient K, with a little Hawk Nelson. Anyone agree/disagree? Let me know what you think!

Posted in Tech Watch

Hello to all it's me (Thomas F) coming to you live from my house. I haven't posted in a long time on DoubleTalk for a while. But I'm here now. So enjoy it.

First I'd like to thank Larry, He's been posting a lot lately. He has Broadband now and I now he's enjoying that.

Second is me, what have I been up to? not much. I'm gonna try starting another blog. Don't worry I'll keep blogging here. I was fishing yesterday, that was cool. Other than boring stuff I haven't been doing much.

Here's a little thing (call it what you want) about technology right now:

TechTalk

1. Apple has released the new iMac check it out here.

2. I used Linux for the first time (well used is an overstatement I messed with it a little).

Tux^ Meet Tux the Linux penguin.

I guess that's not much. But I just had to put in something for the geeks (that's me!).

If you haven't voted on our poll do that now. It's on the sidebar. Oh and if you haven't yet check out my video blog here.

Posted in Nothing News

From now on, I, Larry Scott(A pen-name), will try to include a review of a book, movie, song or artist, or an DoubleTalk gotta-have. My first review will be on a book:

90 Minutes In Heaven By Don Piper with Cecil Murphey.

This book is an account of Pastor Don Piper’s death and life. I say death first, because in a car accident, Don died. The EMT’s that were there checked him multiple times for a pulse, but found none. About 90 minutes after the accident, while the wreckage was still being cleaned up, another minister felt lead by God to pray of him. So he crawled into the smashed car and prayed for him. Prayed hard. And then Don came back to earth. He came back to earth from a miraculous, wonderful visit to heaven. The rest of the book is about Don’s recovery and life. This is only one more reason why I serve the One true God.

I believe that every word of this book is true. Request this book at your local library. It will change the way you pray, it may even change your life.

This week’s DoubleTalk gotta-have is: (drumroll please) Gmail!   This a new aproch to email. Some of the features include: Over 2gbs of storage space, built in chat feature(like IM), and much more. Oh yea, its also free! So sign up and have fun!!!

I want to correct my self on my last post. My cousin Thomas’s blog is called Internet Fondue . Go drop him a comment.

A little of everything

Posted in Nothing News

Thomas has done a great job with making our blog template cool.I have tryed to help, but I have been sort of limited as far as the internet goes. Right now our family has AOL (does anyone else have Aol???) But thankfully we are going to try to switch to comcast later in the week.

Its a lazy Sunday afternoon, not to much to do. (The highlight of my week!)  Maybe we will ride dirtbike later. We live "out in the country" so to speak, so we have plenty of room to ride.

I don't know if any fellow bloggers are hunters, but maybe we could start a club or something. (Just kidding) We are going out west this fall to hunt with our cousins out there. We will be hunting for deer(Both whitetail and muleys) and elk.

I can't wait until football season starts, then I'll have lots to blog about. My cousin Thomas runs this blog with me, but He also has a blog of his own, go check it out: Thomas's online musings

Toilet Cleaning Instructions:

1. Put both lids of the toilet up and add 1/8 cup of pet shampoo to the water in the bowl.

2. Pick up the cat and soothe him while you carry him towards the bathroom.

3. In one smooth movement, put the cat in the toilet and close both lids.
You may
need to stand on the lid.

4. The cat will self agitate and make ample suds.Never mind the noises that come from the toilet, the cat is actually enjoying this.

5. Flush the toilet three or four times.  This provides a "power-wash" and rinse".

6. Have someone open the front door of your home. Be sure that there are no people between the bathroom and the front door.

7. Stand behind the toilet as far as you can,and quickly lift both lids.

8. The cat will rocket out of the toilet, streak through the bathroom, and run outside where he will dry himself off.

9. Both the commode and the cat will be sparkling clean.

Sincerely,

The Dog

No animals were hurt in the making of this (joke, what do you call these?)

Bible Study

I went to our youth group bible study last night and a verse that was read really stuck out to me.    Eph. 3:20 says: "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us"

It is just amazing to think that God can do more than we could ever ask Him to. His power is just so great that He can do works above what we could even imagine! That is only one reason why this is my GOD.

Have a great day, Larry

Rafting

The world according to Thomas:

Rafting... Ahhh. There's nothing like it. We throw together some wood, foam and tarp (in a quiet elaborate way).   And go floating down the river devouring "steak sticks" (steak kabobs) soda and snack. Till your so full you just... um eat more?

There's nature everywhere and it's a great time to just sit back relax (get sunburn) and praise God for his creation.

There's not much more to say except you should do it sometime.

A quote for now:

Good judgment comes from experience, and experience comes from bad judgment.

Weirdness is every where

Posted in Nothing News

As I walked behind our neighbor’s mower, giving a haircut to their backyard, pondering things to blog about, the mower started to splutter and stall. Rats, out of gas. I walk down to the shed and I once again see the grotesque, black, head that startled me when I started mowing. Forever frozen in open mouthed rage, the blue eyed mounted head of an angry wild pig, stares down at me from atop the wall in a way the makes me feel that if I walk to closely underneath, it may try to take a bite out of my unprotected head. No wonder it’s in the shed, it is sooooooo ugly. I think about hunting one of these horrible creatures and shudder inside. Even though my younger brother warned me about it, it still makes me feel like cringing when I see it. Ugh.

On a different note, the Newsboys most recent album, Go, has been debated (I believe) by several. Chris gave it a B+, a rating that I mostly agree with. But, if you were to rate the Newsboys albums by them selves, I would have to say that this is their best album so far. Something that makes them appealing is their low key rock, disco, pop, dance mixture, and of course, their Australian accent.

Here are some pics of my ducks and geese. These are kinda old pictures, so they are a lot bigger now.

I went to Mississippi with our church youth group for a week to work on a pavilion at one of the Choctaw churchs. The girls also had a Bible school in the morning for the community childern and in the evenings had one at the church. We had lots of fun, I learned how to do a front fliip on a trampoline.(Which is a hard job for someone as tall as I am) We stayed at this old place called the "Dorm" It is an old dormitory. Maybe you have heard of it or stayed in it. We signed the walls when we left. The oldest date that we saw on the walls was from the '60s. ( I think)

Swimming!

Posted in The world according to Larry

This year we bought, through the mail, a ton of baby birds including: ducks, geese, turkeys, and many chickens. We also have quail and they lay eggs like crazy. Last night  we took the baby ducks and geese to our grandpas pond to swim. They did enjoy it, once they got the idea of being out there. We swam with them, but there were so many little fish so you couldn't relax, you had to be constantly moving or they would bite you. If you would float on your back they would climb up on your chest and they have really sharp toe nails, so now I have scratches all over my chest! Has any one else ever swam with baby geese?
