Out of Practice.
Well, there's good news and bad news.
THE GOOD:
As you can see, I've changed my template to a wicked awesome Spiderman 3 theme. (Yes, I'm one of the few that DIDN'T hate that movie.) I'm sure you got sick of the wintery theme and listening to Alvin and the Chipmunks singing "Christmas Don't Be Late". (Although, it is hard to get tired of that song, I'll admit!)
THE BAD:
Well, I don't really know how to explain it. Just scroll all the way down.
Now you're laughing, I can see. After months of non-blogging I guess I'm a little out of practice. If anyone could help me fix this, I'd be very appreciative.
Not much happening here, as usual. My little sister is going to be in a violin recital today, so if y'all could pray for her that'd be great!
Sincerely,
Aisha

I'm back!!
Hey all!!
No one is reading this probably because I've been gone for ages and ages. But I'm back!
Things are going all right in Aishaville. Just same old, same old. Besides the fact that I've got a job (yesss...). Don't have any hours yet, my boss hasn't called and scheduled yet. But who cares? I'm employed! (lol)
Well, gotta go. It is good to be back again!
Sincerely,
Aisha.

Long Time, No Blog! Merry Christmas!!
Hey y'all!
Sorry I haven't been blogging much lately. It's been wicked busy lately. We just went to visit my grandparents for Christmas and it's been so busy I haven't had any time to blog.
By the way, please pray for my grandmother. She has breast cancer and we're all really scared for her . She's actually the only one, in fact, that doesn't seem worried. Her faith in God amazes me completely. She keeps saying that she's gonna get better. I wish I was as sure as she was.
But the good news is that she is getting better! She was doing really bad a couple days ago, but she's getting a little better now. Still, keep her in your prayers!
I can't believe Christmas is actually here already! A couple of days ago, I heard some guy on the radio talking about getting your last-minute shopping done because there were only 4 days left. I was like, "4 days?! It seems like the year just flew by! It doesn't even feel like Christmas yet!"
*sigh* I love this time of year!! In a few hours, we'll be putting up the good ol' artificial tree, watching "A Christmas Story" mulitiple times (great movie!), decorating the plastic evergreen with 10-year-old popcorn strings (mom likes to save them), and just having a good time.
May Santa be merciful to you! (lol)
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Ho Ho Ho,
Aisha

I'm beginning to think our family has become too familiar with the ER
Hey y'all!
Another Friday, another high school swim meet! This one went really well, except there were a lot of "goggle mishaps" (see "A History of Swim Goggles" in archives) on our part. My goggles behaved themselves, but I can't say as much for my fellow teammates. They did good dispite the fact that their goggles didn't cooporate. Way to go, peeps!
But in other news, BOTH of my parents had to go to the ER!! It's not anything majorly serious, but dad fell and hurt his wrist and mom has really bad laringitis (sp?).
It seems like one of us (our family) have to go to the emergency room every other week (exaggeration)! I had to go last week because of my ear infection and now my folks had to pay a visit as well. It's kind of funny, but in an ironic way.
We are one strange family, let me tell you. Most families are, though.
Well, I am super-tired, so I'm gonna close here. Can't wait till tomorrow! Our youth group is going to see "The Nativity Story". Should be good. Last year we went to see "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" and it was fun.
OK now I'm officially closing. Adios! Sincerely,
Aisha

Bloggers block. Opinions wanted!
Hey y'all!
I feel like blogging but have really nothing to blog about. I have another survey (because surveys are just fun)! My answers are in italics.
1. On a scale of one to ten, how happy are you with being homeschooled?
It depends. Usually between a six and a ten.
2. Are most of your friends homeschooled or public schooled (or other)?
Mostly public schooled. A few are homeschooled and one is in private school.
3. Are you into public school sports/activities?
Yes, I'm on the high school swim team and lovin' it!!!
4. Are you a member of a co-op or homeschool group?
Co-op=no. Homeschool group= Yes, but a small one.
5. Do people judge you because your homeschooled?
Yes, and it's very annoying.
6. How long have you been homeschooled?
My whole life.
7. Have you ever been to public school before?
Visited, yes. Never attended though.
8. Do you find yourself feeling naive when talking to public schoolers (about "school stuff", ya know?)
Sometimes, especially when they're talking about specific teachers. "Did you hear that so-and-so likes such-and-such a person." And I think, Just smile and nod!
9. Do you think public schoolers have a better social life?
Not really. I'm just as social as they are.
10. **RANDOM QUESTION** Do you like Veggietales? How can you NOT like Veggietales?!
Please leave lots of comments!
Sincerely,
Aisha

"The Final Storm" and other stuff
Hey y'all!
Things are going all right in Aishaville, but they're kind of boring. We're getting ready to go down South for my aunt's graduation (pomp and circumstance!) and that's no fun. I'm looking forward to it, but I hate the intense cleaning we have to do before leaving the house. My parents simply won't rest until the house is spotless when we're going on a trip.
So when I have the spare time, I find my escape in books. I've waited forever to get the last book in "The Door Within Trilogy"--"The Final Storm", and at last it's mine...all mine!! Mmmwhaahahaa...lol. Ok, so it's a library book. But that's the second best thing.
I started reading tFS yesterday and I'm about halfway though it now. Let me tell you, this is a very busy book, if you know what I mean. So much happens and it happens so quickly! It's different than the other books, in that it centers around three characters. Book one centered around Aiden. Book two centered around Aiden and Antoinette (but mostly Antoinette). And book three centers around Aiden, Antoinette, and Robby. This kind of makes tFS a little confusing, but I'm easily confused anyway so it doesn't matter.
This book is awesome (so far)! Of course, it's no Narnia, but kudos to Wayne Thomas Batson. I can't wait to finish it!
Sincerely,
Aisha

X-mas par-tay and "Imaginaaaation..."
Hey Y'all!
What a long day! Although I had to stay at home during Sunday school, I was well enough to go to worship service and the Christmas par-tay. It was sooo much fun. We had a Chinese gift exchange (if you don't know what one is, it's where you pick a number and someone calls you up one at a time. 1 goes first, 2 goes second, you get the idea. If you don't like your present, or someone else has something better, you can exchange it with someone). We divided the exchange into 3 groups, kids (once they choose their present they don't exchange it, because some of them wouldn't be too happy having their presents taken away), teens (can exchange within youth group), and adults (exchange within adults).
I ended up with a 2007 Veggietales calender which I enjoy wholeheartedly. Veggietales rocks !! ****************** My brother DB's little friend AG stayed at our house till about 8:30. (In fact he left a few minutes ago.) I thought it would be pure torture having him spend the night and part of the day at our house, but it was actually quite fun. I told you in my other entry that he's a good storyteller. Well, that doesn't even begin to cover it. He has an incredibly huge imaginaaaaation (in the words of Spongebob Squarepants). He, my brother, and sisters played superheroes. Our plot was to defeat the White Witch (AG's just recently gotten into Narnia. Way to go!) and her monsters. We never actually finished the mission because the plot got twisted so many times. It was fun! Here are the names of our superheroes: Mine: Mighty Moose AG: Storm (and a robot that impersonated him) DB: Rocket HB (youngest sister): Invisagirl and Element Girl PB (second-youngest sister): Chicken Woman and Blinding Light. She is one odd person.
The whole game was really dumb, but it was fun! Here's some advice: Take time in life to act like a little kid. Let your imaginaaaation go wild. Have an adventure, even if it is a weird one. Who knows? It could turn into a story idea. (This one probably won't, though. But that's ok. It was fun!) Sincerely,
Aisha
