Oct. 15, 2006 - Another Sunday Bio

Biography Of Zac Efron

Early life

Efron was born in San Luis Obispo, California to David Efron, an electrical engineer, and Starla Baskett, a former secretary. He is of Jewish descent,[4] although he does not practice the Jewish religion. Efron has a brother, Dylan, and owns two Australian Shepherds named Dreamer and Puppy, as well as a Siamese cat named Simon. His interest in singing was discovered and encouraged at the age of eleven, and he was subsequently cast in the musical Gypsy for 90 performances, and went on to have roles in stage productions of Peter Pan, Little Shop of Horrors, The Music Man, and Mame.

Career

In 2002, Efron began to have guest roles on television series, including Firefly, ER, and The Guardian.

Efron is known for portraying Cameron Bale on the now-cancelled WB series Summerland. Originally introduced as a reoccuring character, Efron became a regular cast member on the show in the second season in 2004. Since appearing in Summerland, he has also had guest roles on the shows CSI: Miami, NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service, and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.

In 2003, Efron starred in the Lifetime original TV movie Miracle Run. He played Steven Morgan, one of two autistic twins. Overcoming incredible odds, with his mother's support, he achieved the unimaginable, winning a cross country competition. For his performance, he was nominated for a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Movie, Miniseries or Special - Supporting Young Actor.[5] In 2005, Efron was a main character in Hope Partlow's music video for "Sick Inside".

In 2006, Efron starred in the Disney Channel original movie High School Musical as Troy Bolton alongside actresses Vanessa Anne Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale and Monique Coleman and actors Lucas Grabeel and Corbin Bleu. This role helped Efron gain recognition among teenage audiences as both an actor and a successful singer. Combined with his simultaneous appearances on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and NCIS, Efron placed as high as #4 on the IMDBPro's STARMeter for the week of January 29, 2006.[6] Efron's singing talents were disputed when it was revealed that Andrew Seeley's voice was blended with Efron's voice on the soundtrack of High School Musical.[7] (It was later learned that this occurred since Efron is a baritone singer and occurred usually for the higher notes-the part of Troy was written for a tenor singer)

Efron became the first artist to debut with two charted songs in the same week on the February 4, 2006 Billboard Hot 100[citation needed], with the songs, Get'cha Head In the Game (feat. Basketball team) and Breaking Free, a duet with Vanessa Anne Hudgens from High School Musical. On the following week, Efron had five simultaneous song credits, all from High School Musical, including, once more, Get'cha Head in the Game, Start of Something New, What I've Been Looking For: Reprise, We're all in this Together (which was credited to the whole High School Musical cast) and Breaking Free. Breaking Free, at the time, made the fastest climb in the history of the Billboard charts, from #86 to #4 between the two weeks; the record has since been beaten by Eminem and Akon's Smack That.[8] Efron also appeared in the 2006 Disney Channel Games as captain of the Red Team. On his team were Kay Panabaker, Anneliese van der Pol, Moises Arias, Dylan Sprouse, and Shin Koyamada.

In June of 2006, Efron was cast as Link Larkin in the upcoming film version of Hairspray, also starring Amanda Bynes, Queen Latifah and John Travolta. Efron will perform all of his own vocals in the film. [3] Filming will take place in Toronto, Ontario, Canada from September 5 to December 8, 2006. Efron has cut and dyed his hair dark brown and will be gaining about 15lbs for the role in Hairspray.[9]

Efron graduated from Arroyo Grande High School in 2006. He has been accepted to both UCLA and USC and will be attending USC in the Fall of 2007.

She is of Jewish ancestry, and her maternal grandfather is Arnold Morris, the developer of Ginsu Knives; Tisdale is also related to businessman Ron Popeil.[4][5] Tisdale was discovered by her current manager, Bill Perlman, at her hometown mall in Monmouth County when she was three, and subsequently sang at the White House when she was twelve years old.[6]

Career

She had a minor role in the 2001 film Donnie Darko and recurring roles on the sitcoms The Hughleys and Still Standing. Tisdale auditioned for both Maddie Fitzpatrick and London Tipton on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and was cast as Fitzpatrick, which required her to dye her brown hair blonde after she dyed her hair it started to break and she needed hair extensions. She was ultimately happy to receive the role because she wanted to portray a character that she felt was more like herself.[7]

As The Suite Life of Zack and Cody gained in popularity, Tisdale became a featured performer on the Disney Channel, appearing in several promotions, specials, and ads for the network. She was also cast in Disney's television film High School Musical, which became a major success for the channel after its premiere on January 20, 2006. The role required Tisdale to perform several songs including, "What I've Been Looking For", "Bop to the Top" and "We're All in This Together". All three managed to chart on the Billboard Hot 100. Tisdale has also recorded versions of the songs "Some Day My Prince Will Come" (from DisneyMania 4 CD) and "Kiss The Girl" (for the DVD special edition release of The Little Mermaid) for Disney. In addition, she is part of the current Disney Channel Circle of Stars, and has sung a version of "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" with the other members of the circle. Tisdale appeared in the Disney Channel Games, which began airing in June of 2006; she was a member and captain of the Green Team, alongside Lucas Grabeel, Miley Cyrus, Emily Osment, Mitchel Musso, and Kyle Massey.

More recently, in July of 2006, Tisdale signed a deal with Staples, Inc. to appear in the promotional campaign for the company's "Geared 4 School" sweepstakes during the fall of 2006.[2] Tisdale's first solo album, distributed by Warner Bros. Records, is scheduled for release in January of 2007, with a single to be released in October 2006. [8] Tisdale has said that she would like her album to appeal to an older audience, and that it will contain "edgy pop tracks."[9] Tisdale will also appear in High School Musical 2: Sing It All Or Nothing!, due for release in 2007.

Oct. 1, 2006 - Barlow Girl Concert

Last night i went to the Barlow girl, matthew west and downhere. It was so cool. I was standing next to the speaker and Becca. She  is the oldest and plays the guiater . Alyssa is the middle girl and she plays a guiater and the keyboard. Lauren is the youngest and plays the drums. I had tons of fun. People kept pushing through to see them. Matthew West wrote a song about Iowa. He said we were crazy because we ate corn. Downhere sang a song about rockstars need money not balonga.

God Bless You
