Aug. 23, 2009 - Oh a title box. Wonder what it's for.
*comes in smiling*
Thank you so much all of you for the wonderful birthday parties and wishes! I cannot express how marvelous I felt when I saw all of them. *hugs everybody and gives them some cake*
The trip to the Alzheimer's/Retirement Home went well. There was only a few tomatoes to pick, but that's alright. So I kind of...forgot the notes to the songs. haha, um. Yeah. I forgot one note, I panicked and a lot of other notes were lost. Kind of blanked out. That's okay, they still liked it. I think. The...people's favorite song was "You are My Sunshine" so I have to remember that one.
If for some weird reason you'd like to know what a few of my presents were...
This adorable little egghead thing! *grins* This was from my little brother. It's a golfball with a face he drew on it, some string, and a plastic egg hat. I loveths it verily! *giggles*Also, that white blouse I am wearing was a gift from my Grandma. It's an old-fashioned inspired shirt I believe.
One of my favorite presents was a book. *smiles* naturally. It is called...
'Hinds' Feet on High Places.' *hugs the book* If you remember, I did a little recommendation about it before from seeing it on Pip's old review blog.
Well, I read it and it has earned a place in one of my Favorites books. Not just a favorite, but a Favorite. Yes. It's that's good.
And you've probably heard of the Lamplighter books. I got one of those, and I cannot wait to read it. It sounds very interesting.
I have something else to tell you. I have a new favorite song artist.
Sarah Kelly.
She's really great.
She sang at our church last night and we were blown away! She's a wonderful songwriter and we were blessed to be able to hear one of her new songs.
*small laugh* If you heard her speak, she speaks in this really sweet voice...and then she starts singing.
haha, she has this really strong, kind of husky voice.
It's beautiful. =)
If you haven't heard her, I'd encourage you to listen. Her songs have been featured on Grey's Anatomy and she's also written for Kelly Clarkson.
Heads up, she writes Christian songs. [woohoo!]
After church, Ms. Kelly was so kind as to sign my CD and spent a little while talking to me and giving me really fantastic tips for songwriting. This is her, me, and my sisters. Yes, I am the one with the green scarf and that's her, the tallest.

Ever His,
Zel
p.s. Laura, pictures!
edit: I have recently been told I have won Taylor's Template Giveaway! So thank you LLT! Also, since I will be changing the template to the template she will be making for me, I just thought I'd take the opportunity to utterly destroy my blog. I'm so sorry Grace dear for wrecking your gorgeous template!
Yeah, so the llama is temporary.

Jun. 12, 2009 - I'm back again! Even though I put on a post last night, I've got some fun stuff that I just need to ramble about!
*bounces in grinning her silly, excited, [overused], grin* It's 10pm and we just came home. I bet you'll never guess where we were!!!
Audience:...*few guesses*
Nope! Not jumping on elephants!...No, not at a cream puff war...NO! WE WERE NOT PULVERIZING THE BEAN BUNS!!!! Oh I'll just tell you! We were at a "Shakespeare in the Park" performance! It was really, really good! The play was done by all high school students and most of them were really great. [I don't say all, because as some were lesser characters I wasn't able to see what they could do.]
We watched "Much Ado About Nothing." It was 5 acts, and everybody stayed up through the whole thing! [Which is amazing.]
Before the performance started, there were a few "fun stuffs." A few of the actors/actresses came out and did a few impromptus which were wonderful! One impromptu game they did was take a scene from the play, and fit it to a few...themes. So the first one they did was a "superhero " theme. [The heroine trying to persuade the villain to become good.], the second was a "nature documentary" theme, which although not quite as good as this last one, was not bad. The last one, was a Skittles Commercial theme! I can't explain it other than to say, everyone was laughing. =^)
There was also one other game played, where the actors picked a volunteer and that person would have a paper. The paper would have a few lines from the play which the volunteer would pick at random to say, when it's his or her turn to speak. So, there was an actor, and actress. The setting was I believe, Norway, and the actor was a professional mud wrestler and had a debt [to the volunteer] which if he couldn't pay it, he'd half to cut out both his kidneys. The actress was the mother trying to persuade the volunteer that they could pay it. [The volunteer was a girl by the way.] The actor was pretending to be one of those people who blurt out the truth when flustered, and so hold on...
actress/mother: Is something going on?
actor/son: Mother, we are engaged. *puts arm around volunteer*
volunteer: *bursts our laughing*
actor/son: *kneels* Will you marry me? *grabs her hands*
actress/Mother: *is ranting about her son marrying that thing*
actor/son: *to the volunteer* That's your cue.
volunteer: *laughs and reads from paper* not now.
You get the gist of it. It was way funnier when you were actually there. *laughs* Well, it rained once, and drizzled a few times after that, but it was still great fun! I hope we can go back and see them perform again.
I suppose I should've put these in between the dotted lines. Which reminds me...

The Clues.
The Clues were a series of tapes, letters, diary entries, maps, and secret messages.
The Clues were very well written, and the ones "written by me" even sounded like something I would say. The tapes, although not really clear sounding, also added to the complexity of the mystery.
There were 5 scenes in the mystery. At the beginning of each scene we would be handed a lime green slip of paper. The paper would say then say something that would lead us to an envelope, or another slip of paper. Some envelopes would contain letters asking Mr-- to review a manuscript, or give a recommendation, or something similar. That would start us off.
Other envelopes would have letters from Mr--to a specific character that would say, "No, I can't do that." Or "MAJOR REWRITE," etc.
Still other envelopes held diary entries and letters that would be "us" venting at Mr--. About him not doing this, or refusing to do that, etc. That would make "us" angry at him. We would ask him for something really important, and he'd refuse or ignore us. That would be our motives.
My motive was that I was publishing a book and needed a non-family recommendation. Sending my manuscript to Mr-- I asked him to review it. He sent a letter to the publisher and to me stating that I needed a Major REwrite!
That was my motive.
Another motive would be...Jessie, the lawyer, was fighting a case in which a home schooled girl was going to be taken into the care of CPS. [child protective services] So, Jessie wrote a letter to Mr-- asking for his support I believe. [sorry, don't know all the details] Mr-- refused to help her. Jessie, writing again to Mr-- stating that his children were home schooled, and they turned out wonderfully, and why he would not like this little girl, Suzy, to be home schooled.
So, she was getting mad at him...That was her motive.
There were also 3 special places where the clues were hidden.
3 special pieces of information.
3 teams.
In case I didn't tell you, [and I probably didn't] there were three teams. Jessie and I; Anelle, Eila, and Alyce; and the boys. Edmund, Matt, Brian, and Wilbur. On the last scene, [since time was running short], Chelise allowed the girls to form one team. *smiles*
The 3 pieces of info were 3 pieces of clear vellum with some lines written with a sharpie. The girls had 2 of the 3. The pieces were the most valuable pieces of information. I believe it held the solution, or the clue to the solution. It was a map.
The three special places were also on I believe the last scene. We went out walking.
Zel's legs: *ache*
Yup. Lotta walking. We went out to the restaurants which were kind of near to the Chelise's house. We were geocacheing. Chelise used a GPS and we followed it until we were in about a 10-20 feet range of the cache. Then, we would just look for the green tube. *grins* Three tubes. Brian found the first one, Anelle, the second. The last, we were at a waterfall, those landscaped ones, and Chelise said "Okay, we're in range. You can go! Oh and the cache is in the view of the falls." They all fanned out into the surrounding bushes. I came at a slower pace, and stopped at the two pillars which stood before the falls. Near the base of the pillars were those huge flower pots with the mixed flowers. I stuck my hand in, and pulled out the green tube with the gold star and waved it above my head. *giggles* I got some cheers from the girls. I don't know how I knew it was there! I just had a feeling. Maybe it was the practice from letterboxing.
It must've been 102 degrees outside, but it so much fun. So. Much. Fun. *laughs and wants to do it again*
.............................................................................................................
There, you may rest.
You know, I just realized. I've been leaving long posts, but they are really...Much Ado About Nothing. I hope that to start leaving you with something more substantial. *smiles*
Let's start with a verse.
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me.
•••Galatians 2:20•••
Are you living by the faith of the Son of God?
