Highlights from our cruise
Posted in Kids-Family-Funnies-Etc
I will be the first to admit that I definitely don't deserve all the blessings that God has bestowed upon me. And our cruise to the Bahamas was definitely a blessing-- just being able to see the excitement and joy in the faces of my boys made it worth every penny!
I did get a bit camera lazy... I would much rather play than spend every second behind the camera snapping away.
Anyhow, here are a few highlights of our trip:
My handsome hunk o' hubby.
While we loved the three course meal that lasted an hour or more, the kids would've preferred a quick, one course meal instead! So on the one formal night, the kidlets dined with the staff of the kids' program and hubby and I enjoyed a nice meal in peace.
Tank loved the swimming pool.
He finally learned how to swim this summer and swam the entire length of the pool over and over and over again. I'm so proud of him!
The cutest little pirate ever.
The last night of the cruise, all the kids painted their faces like pirates (except for my little non-conformist's) and marched around the ship singing pirate-y songs. Do you know what a pirate's favorite letter is? Arrr!!! (the kids thought it was absolutely hysterical)
See the cool elephant behind the goofy looking kid? :-)
If only *I* could be towel talented like that. Our stateroom attendant (man, I need one in real life!) had a different one on our bed every night when we'd get back from dinner. I love how they turn down the bedcovers, have the room dimly lit, and leave a cool towel creation on the bed. The boys loved that they always had at least two mint chocolates on their pillows! Seriously, how much do you think it would cost to have someone do this for us every night after dinner???
Coco Cay, Bahamas
This is Royal Caribbean's private island in the Bahamas. It was really pretty, even with the extreme heat and plethora of GIGANTIC jellyfish in the water and on the beach. The boys really enjoyed the boatride from our ship (in the background) to the island. The water is waaaay more beautiful than the picture shows...and it's tons better than the brown water we have here in the Gulf.
Mommy stew.
My boys could live in a hot tub. Seriously, they l-o-v-e it! I need to work on teaching them how to give a proper foot massage. There is nothing like a good foot rub while you're stewing in a hot tub.
Well, that's it for the grand Cruise de Bahamas! We are now back in the real world of laundry, cooking and lessons. We had a fabulous first day of school (even though we go year-round)...the kids actually RAN downstairs with glee when I said it was time to do lessons! Yup, GLEE!!! Imagine that. I wouldn't trade this time with my children for anything in the entire world.

I want to go! I'm terrible about taking pictures, too. I'd much rather be in the thick of things than hanging back recording it for posterity. Then I get home and feel guilty because we have no record of our fun times!
My husband, who was a commercial diver when we married, would be absolutely envious of that beautiful blue water. We haven't done any diving this summer and he's getting antsy!

Oh now that is so unfair! You floating about the high seas in style while the rest of us sit here and watch you do it! I do hope you learned how to fold a towel elephant. My girls wouldn't have left until they knew how!

It looks like you had fun. I think that I might have had to sneak the elephant towel home with me in my suitcase. Too cool!

Waaaaaay back when I was 20 years old. I was a Fitness Speacialist. I worked at this one fitness club and to reward myself after a hard days work and also a work out at the end of a shift. I would always take a soak in the hot tub. I would laugh and the room had a echo. The manager would come back and say " Hey Whirl Pool Mary would you keep it down, LOL " Soooo that was my nick name while I worked there. LOL So please keep this under your hat. (0; God Bless. I thought you needed a good laugh.

Your cruise looks mega fun! Only, I hate water, so I'd probably be pretty freaked out.

We did a family cruise a couple of years ago. I dream of the day I can go back/ Probably just me and my dh this time. Although I knwo the kids would enjoy it but they got to go once already and they have the memories. : )
I scrapbooked the whole trip!
