I want...

Posted in Kids-Family-Funnies-Etc

This time of year, there are many kids who get the Gimme's.  You know, gimme this, gimme that...I want, I want, I want!

This morning, I opened our spare pantry (hall closet with shelving) to get a few ingredients out for PB fudge and truffles.  Dozer comes RUNNING into the hallway and jumps up and down pointing to the shelves.

Is my sweet, insistent little 2 year old pointing to the chocolate bars leftover from camping?  Nope.  Maybe he's pointing to the graham crackers or goldfish.  Nuh-uh.

Oooo!  Ohhhh!  (pointing and jumping)

I wan cwean!  I wan cwean!  Oh! Oh. Cweeeeeean.

Then he stands there staring at me with his big blue eyes...waiting for me to figure it out and answer him.  So I reach for the eagerly anticipated item-- the Swiffer. :-)

He is so happy when I attach the little dustcloth and send him to work.  He is currently moving ALL of the chairs out from the table and cleaning underneath them!    Oh wait, he's yelling at the Swiffer for getting stuck...hehehee...  Yup son, yell at it...that'll teach it to get stuck again!

My upstairs should be clean shortly...so long as he doesn't take too many breaks.  You know, the important ones like shooting the toy gun, Swiffer a little, stacking a few blocks, swiping an apple from the counter, Swiffer a little, closely examining the BIG crumbs he's finding...

You know, it is hard to get good help these days.  When all of my training is done in a few years, my house will be spic and span while I lounge on the couch, browse HSB and eat chocolate truffles (the homemade kind, please...wait, I'm not that picky when it comes to chocolate!)...

Oh, this is too funny. DS also discovered the joys of Swiffering at a young age, too. Thankfully, the joy hasn't worn off yet. Whew!
Merry Christmas and blessings friend,

Bubba absolutely loves to clean. He would ride the vacuum cleaner when he could barely walk. We go to friends houses and he finds their swiffers, begs to clean the horse stalls etc. He gets excited when we shop and someone is cleaning. He's going to be the next Don Aslett ha,ha! Maybe they mine and yours can go into business together lol!

That is SWEET. My ds had two of his dad's old tube socks on his arms, all the way up to his shoulder, cleaning and dusting. He is a great cleaning helper too.

We just had a song in our Christmas play called "Gimmie Gimmie"

Gimmie this, gimmie that
Tell me where my presents at
Gimmie this, gimmie that
I'm a gimmie, gimmie brat

All I want is everything that money can buy
The more I get the more I want I'm never satisfied.

And I can gladly say that my son doesn't have the gimmie, gimmies. I asked him what he thought of getting a bag of rubber bands for his very own and the grin that split his face and jumping up and down was a good sign that this was indeed a great gift. (My mom got him that at my suggestion.)

Get that swiffer in their hands early. My 14yo didn't do this and now he quakes and goes into convulsions when anything resembling a dustcloth or sponge is pointed in his direction.

You need to write a book about this housecleaning curriculum for males you have going here!! Afterall, sounds like you're going to have some free time.
