The little things in life-- like water, sparkly shoes, teeth and pictures!

Posted in Kids-Family-Funnies-Etc

There are so many little things in life that make a girl happy.  We finally got the well fixed and are now the proud owners of running water!  It can be so easy to take for granted the simple things in life-- like a hot shower, being able to do laundry (and not have to touch the emergency underwear and socks),  and washing your hands (instead of using a wipey).

I never thought I'd say this, but I even missed my nightly ritual of washing dishes.  Washing dishes!  Surely I've gone mad.

Nothing like boys to bring you a heaping dose of reality though.  When they aren't accidentally hitting themselves in the head with the backswing of a hammer, they are losing their teeth and winning first prize at Crazy Hat Night (see Tank on the right).
Crazy Hat Night and first lost tooth

Did you also notice his missing bottom tooth?  I must confess that I was a better dental fairy this time, unlike previous instances.

As you can see, I finally braved the 60 degree weather and retrieved my camera from the van.  AND even uploaded a few pics.

I know.  You are shocked and awed by my fortitude.

In other photographic news, the aforementioned sparkly gold shoes that were proudly picked by my boys look like this:

My boys picked out these gold shoes for me Gold Shoes

Aren't they cute? Oh, and please notice that this must've been pre-water-woes days since my hair is NOT in a nasty ponytail. You know it was a good day for me since I also took the surprising step of accessorizing (see my dangly gold plated earrings?). My boys thought I looked beeeeeeautiful.

And to round out this post of a quasi-plethora of pictures, here is a pic of my in-law's.  I hate to call them that though.  They're really just dad and mom.

Grandpa & Grandma

Aren't they an adorable couple?  They are so perfect for each other.  I am extremely thankful that God blessed me with such a wonderful set of second parents!

Love your shoes and your boys are right - you do look beautiful!! I'm so glad you got your well fixed. Not having water is NOT fun. We have a well, too, and have been without a couple of times because of parts not working. I'm so glad you have wonderful in-laws. I do, too, and it's such a blessing.

God bless you ~ Julie

Shoes are too cute...and so are you! :o)

Loved the hat! We're always trying to come up with something new for wacky hat night at church!

Isn't it nice to have great in-laws? I'm blessed that way too!

You are gorgeous! You know, we all "hate" you because you're so skinny!!! Asian women! ARG!!! I'm taking back my HSblogger award nomination I gave you and giving it to a woman with hips, a bulging stomach and chunky thighs -- someone I can RELATE to!!

I hope you know that I'm kidding (sort of)! No, really, I've learned to NOT compare my proportions with those of anyone from this continent. Really, you look marvelous, darling! Shoes, earrings, and a purse. Wow! And doors stacked in the LR. HA ha! Blessings as you get settled. It's hectic, but so awesome when it's like you want it.

Very nice pictures -
speaking of a lost tooth - I met a lady yesterday who was late to a "park day" meeting because her boys were wrestling on the trampoline and one boy lost a tooth in his brother's back! ugh. I thought of you! The lady has a house full of boys.

I know, weird subject title, but I'm on a computer fast and feeling really guilty right about now for breaking it, as I should be having my quiet time and personal worship time.........

I'm sneaking around a tiny bit and wanted to update myself on your blog. But I'm not really here, okay? Pretend you didn't see me....

You is pretty as a speckled pup, ya know? And the shoes, tres chic! I've been reading way too much Jan Karon lately! finished her latest book in TWO DAYS FLAT!

Anyway, tons of love to you.......and you'd think I was the one out of water the way my hair looks this morning! Ugh! Gotta take a shower!

LOVE YOU!

Hmmmm....what to say when I'm obsessing over how skinny you are and how adorable you look. Those shoes would look horrid on my big feet and yes, I'm totally jealous about how great you look in a pair of jeans.
Whatever!
Hooray for water! :)

Hi Marsha! You look so put-together here. I'd have to watch five episodes of What-Not-To-Wear to get a look like that. And lose fifteen pounds and color my hair, but who's counting, right? And I loved the boys' conversation in the above post. Karen (bensrib.blogspot.com)
