I thought I was a good homeschooling mommy...

Posted in Kids-Family-Funnies-Etc

I just got the boys into their beds and left the room.  I walked by a few minutes later to hear this conversation.

Tank: What were the names of those ships again?

Dash: The Nina, the Pinta and the Santa Maria.

I stood there with a smile on my face, my heart beginning to warm at the thought of them discussing our recent history lesson...

T: How about we drive the Santa Maria?

D:
No.  Let's drive the Nina.

Drive?  You don't drive a ship... do you?  Oh well.  They're discussing.  I don't need to get technical about the terminology...

T: Okay.  Soooo, you can drive first, okay?  I'll be downstairs eating while you're driving.  Then if you need help, you can call me and I'll come up.  Do you think that if we're going in the right direction that you could come down and eat with me at the same time?

D:
Yeah.

Oh.  They're pretending instead of having an intellectual discourse on the exact navigational route and the hardships endured by the crews.

Wait, they're talking about the crews!

T: Hey, how about we drive a cruise ship instead?

Oi.  Not the kind of crews that I was thinking... And then it just went downhill from there...

D: How about we drive a... TOILET CAR?!!!

Both:
Hahahahahahahahahahaha!!!

Yes, my children are full of culture and distinguished learning.  I'm sure they'll be branching out into the creative arts with a toilet car design for the Pinewood Derby.  Or maybe they'll go into automotive technology with a patent for a toilet/booster seat combo.

Yup, I learns 'em real good!

What a sweet story. My children have the oddest twists in their conversations, too. Usually they are going on a journey of some sort.

Boys! I love em.
I have a wedgie video at my blog - you have to check it out to see what might be coming in the teen years. Since I don't have teen boys....yet.... I sometimes have to borrow these guys - and yes, their parents even let me borrow them sometimes from Texas!

Hey it started off really well. At least they got those names!

We were reading a story about Pilgrims the other day, the father had died and the mother remarried. DS interjected with, "Well, at least they didn't live back in Moses' time. She would have had to marry all the brothers until they were all dead" ROFL

Hi, I visited via Emily (nsre mom). Kids are so funny! I have 3 boys and one girl, and sometimes the conversations really take an unexpected turn! The boys usually end up giggling over someone else's physical pain or some type of gross bodily function!

Aren't boys fun? A toilet ship? Cool. Next best thing? Hot Wheels sells a toilet car called The Hot Seat. My boys have one. Here's what it looks like:
