Dh always groans when I get another one! LOL! I must have at least thirty already. I have one Southern Living one that I was given as a wedding pressie which is well loved like yours! But this one sounds great, because some of those recipes are a little time consuming - though well worth it when I have the time!

Unfortunately my second Grandma went into the arms of Jesus just 2 weeks ago, but I may make one of her recipes just to feel close to her today!

Shane's favorite Lemon Meringue Pie is from an old SL magazine. One can never have too many good cookbooks :)
Sweet pic-- I learned how to make all sorts of goodies with my sweet southern Grandma, including fried chicken, she's been gone over 20 years and I stll think if her often.

Homeschool conference begins tomorrow-- sure hope I can make it to a computer for the next 2 days of your birthday bash--

I loved your story about the crabs. Too funny! I have flipped through this cookbook at a Southern Living at Home party and loved the sound of a lot of the recipes. Simple meals are definitely up my alley at this stage in my life. I would love to be entered in your giveaway.

Oh gosh! That is too funny about the crabs! I would be so grossed out. My husband tells me stories of his mom and how she'd cook eel for the family and they are alive when she buys them and they slither around the sink until she does away with them. GROSS! GROSS! GROSS!!!! Give me a cheese sandwhich any day. Ha Ha!!!

Sigh... alas, I'm no longer blessed with my grandmothers' presence. They were both wonderful cooks... my paternal grandma was also an awesome baker!

My "dream" kitchen may one day actually be decorated with apples... in another phase of life. :) But, if I win, I'll be one step closer.

My grandmothers have all passed but MAN my gram made the best Mac and Cheese ever and we have tried to recreate it and I was in the kitchen many times with her but it is never the same. I truly think it was her love that made that taste that I am missing! Great Giveaway and a way for us to stop and remember a loved ones because of your sweet post!

Like your mom, I'm the youngest and never learned to cook. But I married a man who loves to cook. So guess who still doesn't cook? I can follow a recipe, but I can't look in the pantry and say, "OH...let's have ______ for dinner!"

I miss my Grandma's!! Waaaa!! My maternal Grandmother was a fantastic cook and baker! I owe all my baking skills to her. She lived with us and we would be upstairs and smell these delectable smells of Cinnamon Rolls, Pies, and other such wonderful things wafting through the house. Everything she made was so delicious and made with love! My paternal Grandma was one of the best cooks I've ever known. She couldn't bake, but she could cook everything else so good!

Thanks for the wonderful post! My grandma is really sick right now, she has a 90% blockage in her arteries and is waiting for bypass surgery. It hurts to see her in so much pain, but I thank God everyday that she is still here with us!
