The Olympics are coming!
Posted in General Ramblings
Are y'all excited about the upcoming 2008 Olympics?! The opening ceremonies will be at 8pm on 8-08-08. And if I was really feeling on-the-ball, I'd tell you what time that was over here in USA and some other schnazzy links.
I think the boys and I will track different events on the map and maybe do a medal count. Who knows? Maybe they'll find a new sport they like!
So are y'all going to be keeping up with the Olympics at your house? If you don't have TV, you can always keep up online right HERE. Nifty, eh?

I hoping to watch the opening ceremonies and gymnastics. I don't know if my busy schedule will allow much more than that. I love your ideas of tacking events and counting medals! Have fun!!

We don't watch much of the summer olympics, but we get right into the winter olympics. The 2010 winter olympics are being held in Vancouver, which is just a 45 miunte ferry ride from here! We couldn't be more excited. We will be desperately trying to score some hockey tickets when they go on sale in 2 months!!!
The boys always make charts and graphs for medals, It keeps them busy and they have no clue they are learning something!

Nice picture of you and your hubby! :-) We're going to be watching two fantastic female athletes from here in Iowa. They look very promising and we are all very excited to see how well they do!

That last comment was by me. ;-) Guess I wasn't logged in. I'm using my husband's laptop and it doesn't automatically log in like my computer does.

Yes ma'am we're excited about the Olympics. This will be our very first Olympics as parents. It's very exciting. I love that pic of you and David. I don't think I've ever seen that picture that big before. I never noticed that the Great Wall was behind y'all. HA!
Love you.

I love watching the Olympics-- or should I say, watching a multitude of commercials intermittently interrupted by short bursts of Olympic coverage. It is the only time (other than American Idol season, she admits with chagrin) that I regularly watch TV. Unfortunately, we'll be spending 3-1/2 days of the Olympics at a TV-free cabin. (TV-free is GOOD-- jus not during Olympics.)
I too am thinking abt doing something "educational" w/the Olympics but haven't decided what yet. Writing articles about events &/or athletes worked OK during the last Winter Games but might be asking a bit much for August! :-) Making a graph of medal counts, maybe-- my son gets into that kind of stuff. We'll see. We've been on break for a while and I have to start easing us back into school mode somehow!

Yes, we sure are keeping up with them! We're working on a whole Olympics unit study and will be sitting together to watch the opening ceremonies this Friday. We'll be doing our own Olympics, keeping a medal count, and just whatever else we can think of.
That, my dear, is a GORGEMOUS picture of you and David!

Anxious with anticipation ;o) I really am, both because we love watching the Olympics, but more importantly, I'm hoping and praying that China adoptions will jump on a super fast speed up train afterwards. Really, really, hoping :o)

We don't watch TV, so we aren't going to watch them. I wish we could, but we don't even have a TV antenna! I miss watching them, though.
